Does anyone have a fold out step with about a 4" drop that they don't need anymore? I would gladly pay shipping. My wife wants to try camping again after having a stroke about 6 years and I need to add one to our Love Bug.

Bob, I've got one on my Scamp and for me it works just fine. BUT, the problem is because of the egg shape of the trailer and where the step had to be welded to the frame, very little actually is usable. I'm saying I don't get the full benefit of the step. You may want to consider a solid step (with foldable legs) like this one:

Hey Bob. Give your wife a big hug from me for her effort. My wife had a stroke 10 years ago and we just started camping again. I have a 13 ft Boler that is low enough to the ground that she can get in. I am trying to sell it to get a trailer with a shower and toilet. We have a port=a=pottie but no shower. A lot of the campgrounds that we have been to say they are handicapped accessible but when you get there, depending on her disability, the washrooms aren't. My wife was left with no sense of balance and foot drop so she has to walk with a walker. I do wish you all the very best. Yours in Bolering. Jim

Bob...
do you have a friend or someone that might 'custom make' one for you and maybe a rail at the side or are you looking for something that would fold up??

I can make one myself. My biggest problem is that I always overbuild everything. If I make a step, you can almost guarantee that you could use it for an engine stand in a diesel repair shop. I am thinking about attempting the project with extra effort to keep it light.
