If you aren't boodocking, use an electric heater. They are dirt cheap and available everywhere. The average 1500 watt electric heater will keep you warm at least down to 20 degrees, and in my experience much colder temperatures as well.

Dan, it is for his cabin.. and I think he said it was off grid? Or at least electrically challenged.

Is that right George?

Correct Gina.

Electric heaters and and even a fair size bank of deep cycle batteries like I got just, wont cooperate with one another too well.

Get to Wally, or like store, and get a couple of Coleman Black Cats for about $50 each, or a Mr Heater Buddy (can be hooked up to 20# LP tank).

consider what they do on boats and get one that runs on denatured alcohol, the 100% version, from hardware stores, not the 70% weakened stuff from your pharmacy:

You can find used ones cheap on craigslist and ebay

they are smaller but so is the area you wish to heat, where even a burning candle will help
