I've never seen a 7' trailer that wasn't a teardrop!

Look at this Lil' Loafer! It's vintage and it's only 7 feet long!
I found this ad on Craigslist just now, for Salem Oregon:

Vintage 1961 Lil Loafer Compact - $3100 (NE Salem)

Date: 2010-09-08, 10:14AM PDT
Reply to: see below

Super cute and highly collectible, this 1961 Aristocrat Lil' Loafer may be the last of its kind. It's only 7 feet long, but feels very comfortable. No leaks, stove works great, icebox seals tight, all original counters, wood, and floors are in fabulous condition. Can be towed with a small car. Wheels, bearings, and springs are all in great shape. All windows work and no rips in the screens. This trailer is wired for 110 and deep cell battery. I just replaced the gaucho with new foam and upholstery. You won't find a nicer or cuter vintage trailer.

I am only selling because I just had a death in the family.

Sorry, the last two pictures should have been rotated, but can't get craigslist to do it.

A company in canada makes those that small. Sure would be easy to tow

Taylor Coach is the company. I saw one at the Toronto trailer show a couple of years ago. It is called an 8 foot! Taylor Coach > Models > 8' Lil El Too bad it's not fibreglass!

cory,
Thanks so much for posting this! I have a trailer just like this and i hadn't been able to identify it. All the markings were gone on mine, and all the other l'il Loafers I'd seens were shaped a bit different. I am so excited! And it is as small as it looks. It is just about my son's arms spread wide and long. Looks funny from outside but really has it all inside. These pics answered a lot of my questions like: did they add the wallpaper later or was it original? Im going to try to contact the owner to see if I can get better pics, but these are better than any I have seen!

I love little trailers but I find that shape so odd. I liked the teeny tiny canned ham we had better. It was about that size and not a teardrop.

I think it is called "The Bug"

After looking around at a few sites that discuss the Aristocrat trailer line, it seems that this may not be a "Lil Loafer" but something else called "The Bug" which was an 8' trailer, the smallest in the Aristocrat series.

Wish I could find one for myself. I assume that not that many were produced and the years will have reduced their numbers.

Maybe 4 small people if one sleeps on the floor...or 1 in the camper and 3 in the tent!

Looks like it's designed to save on toll charges on the ferry to Alaska or to Newfoundland. Certainly would not help to keep fuel bills low - has the worst aerodynamics of any trailer I've ever seen.

Actually, it would be the opposite. Imagine towing a piece of 8x 8 plywood down the street with it being upright. That is what that would feel like. You would be all over the road with sway unless you had sway control.

When in Fla. last Jan. we met a couple from Canada that had the larger Taylor trailer, I think it was 15' . They towed it with a Subaru Forester with no problems. I thought it was a very nice trailer.
