Mid 80's UHAUL CT-13 $4000

Very complete camper, solid, pulls well.

Would be a great start for a complete restoration project

I bought it to live in while working away from home. I have only stayed in it a couple times.
Transmission troubles take priority.

See pictures in my album

1. Swamp cooler cover needs secured. Cooler blows and is intact but I doubt it's operational
2. Needs some light screen repair
3. Probably needs some seals
4. Inside door handle is broke off
5. Have to jiggle the key for the lock to turn
6. Needs a bubble bath
7. Titled as a 2007 homemade camper. DMV wouldn't budge
8. Has new furnace
9. Good tread on tires, a little aged though
10. Thermostat prong broken

$4,000 firm

Located in central Missouri off I-44
Willing to deliver within a reasonable distance with some cash up front. Always headed to Nashville area.

U haul

I don't know if I am capable of a complete renovation but i am near Nashville and would seriously consider 3.5k..... Do not know systems well. How much of the repair is easily learned/straightforward?
Regards,
Pamela

Fiberglass RV - Majorsr's Album: UHAUL CT-13

Looks all original and intact. The only obvious mod that I see is an electrical outlet on the front of the cabinet and a small access door for ??? added. It has the original swamp cooler, icebox, table, bunks, curtains, bin liners, battery box.........exterior decals are missing and left tail light looks like gasket might be gone?

It really doesn't need restored, but it is complete enough if someone wanted to. There are threads here for swamp cooler removal and replacement with fans. Thats about the only major project, and the hardest part about that would be climbing the ladder to remove the bolts! Everything else is very minor.

Very nice looking trailer! On this one, a restoration doesn't look to be all that much. You should definitely look at the tires since they can look great on the outside but be pretty shot inside. Years of sitting outside matter more than mileage. Most people have removed their swamp coolers since they tend not to work well anymore and, if they do work, just make the air more humid. A new vent fan (Fantastic Fan, MaXXAir, etc.) can be purchased to fit that ceiling hole well. The CTs weren't really made to support a modern roof AC, so the fan is the best way to go. For the broken door lock/handle, you can have the lock repaired by a locksmith if it is not too far gone. The broken handle may be the bigger problem though, since I don't know if that part is replaceable. The lock mechanism appears to be the same lock as found on all the UHaul campers (Bargman but I don't know the number), so these can sometimes be found on eBay or in the used parts section of this website. (Be sure to wash out that fresh water tank, too, to take care of any growths or bacteria and check out the battery.)

Window seals are a problem on all of these older UHauls, so expect a little dribbling water. There are lots of posts on this forum about putting in new seals or at least temporarily stopping the infiltration. I used black butyl putty to solve our leaking problems on the back window.

The broken therostate prong is something I haven't had to fix, but again, there are posts about fixing/replacing thermostats on this forum. Some folks just go with a newer furnace or look for a used thermostat for sale.

Overall, this looks like a good buy in the new price range. Cute trailer!

As an overflow from another recent thread, if you must have brakes, there is no easy way to add brakes to the CT13, short of replacing the axle and wheels.

That said, it is a very well designed and built trailer.

I will take $3,000 until next week, and if I have no takers I'll keep it. Muscle car or ford coupe project trades possible.
