Nice original 1983 13 ft. Burro camper- Best Offer

This camper is in very good condition for it's age and useage. Tires are like new. I just sanded and repainted the front hitch and the rear bumper with enamel paint and used paint hardner. I resprayed the awning after fixing a crack in it..

I also wetsanded 90 percent of the body with the exception of the tallest part of the roof, with fine sandpaper and buffed the entire camper with fibreglass polish and finished it off with Meguires wax. It is an awful lot of work and numerous hours to do this. I am the type that likes the orginal surface and not a repainted camper if possible. There are some minor cracks in the fibreglass like any old trailer. On a ten scale due to age and usage I would give it a 7 due to the small cracks in the fibreglass.

I put new weather stripping in the door and it seals up pretty darn good now.. I removed ALL the exterior lenses and washed them with soap and water and water due to the dirt and grime over the years and it did make a difference.

The interior/curtains are in really good shape and does not need replacing. On a ten scale I would give it an 8. I do have the original window where the a/c unit is located. I do have the entry door key as well.

What it needs: The outdoor utility plastic hook ups are old and should be replaced. It has electric brakes but I don't know if they work. There is a brake controller in the camper that is included. It has a DC/gas furnace but I haven't tried it yet. But, I can test it if you live in colder climates than Texas and really need a heater..

I do know fridge does not get cold on electricity, but it may on the gas setting, I just can't say for sure at this point because lately I have been concentrating on finishing the buffing; it was was a chore to say the least! But I must say in the end it was worth the effort.

I am interested. Is it sold yet? Don't want to make an insulting offer, so let's start somewhere. You are located close enough for me to come get it. ~~~ WIL ~~~

Price?

Something is odd here. I offered $3000. He turned it down and did not counter with any asking price. I e-mailed asking how much he wanted for the trailer. No response. Suspicious, or at least strange..

I would have laughed at that price. When I have trailers for sale and am asked about "Blue book" prices and people try to low-ball me I suggest they start looking at "sticky- built" trailers so we will both be happier. This trailer would sell for more than $3,000 in my neck of the woods. Trailers that are in much worse condition sell for lots more here. In fact I had a similar Burro and it didn't sell for $3,000.00.

Someone should list their asking price. They should probably set it somewhat higher than their selling price, since everybody wants to negotiate, but not higher than a reasonable sale price. I wouldn't respond to an ad with no sales price.

Burro offer

Now what exactly is suspicious about be declining your offer which was not "reasonable" to me? Yes the camper is on Ebay with over 200 watchers so I think the offer was certainly too low. There are very few Burros for sale right now and especially in this good of shape.

You should disclose that the item is for sale locally and not play one another against the other. You do not disclose on Ebay that the item is for sale locally and can be closed upon sale nor did you disclose here that the item is on Ebay. So technically the item is not for sale here on the forum until the Ebay auction ends. Once you offer to sell something and someone accepts your offer then it is sold, you can not say to the winning bidder on Ebay, wait until I check the forum offers, nor the reverse.
Once it does not sell on Ebay then you can try to sell it here for your price you list. Good luck.

You are correct to a point. As you e-mailed I was trying to figure out how to delete my ad from here. I thought we lived in a free world!
