A friend of mine looked at this one but had to pass as her car won't really pull a trailer safely. The previous owner has glassed over the poptop, I assume in the up position, so it no longer has canvas, and it has been done nicely inside.

It looks to me like this trailer is an altered Compact Jr and not a Trails West Campster. Look at the shape of the wheel wells. And the front wall has a vertical, midline seam and a wider, shorter window. It would be interesting to measure the inside height. It looks short.

It does look like a nicely done rig. I really like the look of the cabinets! They look very modern and durable.
So the permanently popped top is some sort of mod, it's not a Havasu? Just wondering...
Hopefully whoever picks it up will join our ranks, huh? hehe

The current owner told my friend that it was a mod he also listed it as a Campster so who knows? Maybe it is a Havasu.

If they did not sell it yet, you'll probably see the ad come back soon. That's already happened before. Seattle CL only lets your ad run 7 days. Yoy can renew it after that, but they will 'expire' the ad after 7 days.

I did contact them a few weeks ago. They adjusted the weight listing, after I asked about it. It originally said 1000 lbs. At 1450, it's a bit heavy for us. The interior is framed with wood rather than fiberglass, making it heavier there.
Plus it has no water tank; I wonder how big a challenge that is to install. Don't think it has a furnace, either. I was kind of looking for a bit of a fixer, and here they have done some things, but obviously there are some things it lacks.
It's pretty low priced; but no one has taken it and it's been for sale for weeks now. Isn't it a Havasu?
I'd really like to find a reasonably priced Trillium 13 nearby, say in Vancouver,BC area. Seems to be quite a few there. There's one in Sonora,CA, too far from me, but it looks like a good fit. Darn!
Thanks,
Fran

I don't think so. Here's a comparison shot. The Havasu is on the right.

The Havasu more closely resembles a Campster in its mold- horizontal seam, popped out area in the front, wheel skirt. (Does anyone know where they were made?)
The owner did tell my friend that it was the former owner who did all the work, including glassing over the poptop. It sure looks like he shortened it but maybe its tall enough for the average person. While I can see advantages of no pop-top it would certainly rule it out for me, as it would not be garageable, and the extra weight doesn't help, either. I love the paint job, though, and the interior does look nice.

I think it's very nice too. I love the pull out baskets and the cabinet work.

The Havasu was made by Astro Mfg. Co., Ontario, California: From the Albums - 1971 Havasu VIN Plate

I think that you will find that 1450# for a Compact is about correct for an empty one.... Ours weighs right at 1600# loaded going down the road...
Water tank installation is easy, it just flops down under the side/seat cabinent (sp?) storage area on the driver side. Goes thru the hole easy... Then it is just a matter of running flexible food grade tubing to pump on sink... Mine is out for more storage (and not having to worry about leaks). I just flop a seven gal square jug under the sink and drop the tube into it.... Larry
