Scamp - No title. Tucson $1500 firm
I bought this a couple months ago to fix up and use for the summer. It is still sitting almost untouched so I think I will sell. No title. I purchased it in CA. I will not take it to motor vehicles for you. You will need to figure out title issues. Sold as is, where is. I towed it from San Diego to Tucson with no problem. Fiberglass intact. $1500 firm.

You might put up an asking price and your general location.
It's pretty hard to have a vehicle in the Golden State without leaving a DMV paper trail. Do you have any background info, previous registered owners, last state of registration?
If the serial number turns up in CA you could get dinged up to 5 years back registration + penalties to reregister here.

It might actually be easier to register it not in CA if it has an old CA registration. CA DMV gets confused when the registration is really out of date. They might end up taking your money and then "send it along to Sacto" for final determination and take forever to finalize. I know this from personal experience.

Ifr in CA, and the seller can at least provide an out of date plate number or a serial number/vin, most AAA offices can run a sample application and tell you the total fees before you buy.
5 Years + penalties can run up to more than the value of the trailer.
I had a fiberglass TRAVCO class "C" that I let slip out of registration for 3 years and when I wanted to sell it, the DMV bill to bring it current was over $1200

So, Bob, do states have reciprocal registration fees? As in, if an AZ or NM buyer goes to their DMV, can they start a new registration, and skip the the CA DMV issues?
(My apologies to the seller. If you feel this discussion is detrimental to your efforts to sell I will delete my posts. )

No Title vs DMV
As a general rule, states do not have interlocking fines and penalties for titling and/or registering non-titled vehicles.
For example, in CA if a trailer is sold on a bill of sale only there is a procedure for gaining title. But, if it was registered in CA in the past 5 years, and the buyer can't prove that it was subsequently registered in another state, they may be liable for full back registration and penalties. Again any buyer should do a dry run first with their autoclub or DMV before purchasing any trailer or vehicle that is lacking current registration, much less lacking a title.
And again, some states don't even title older trailers, and will often register them with only a bill of sale.
IMHO: In as much as we often have many potential FGRV buyers reading these posts, any thing; tips, warnings or red flags we can share with them are paramount. Protecting sellers is secondary.

I have no clue. I bet if you called Scamp they would be able to tell you and if so ready to sell you everything you need. I would first check with a local RV repair shop and inquire there as the parts could be purchased local and returned if they did not. Just a thought. Good luck to you on the PP. A couple picture would be great to share in your new adventure.

Not the cabinetry and not some of the windows, the PP has a much larger side window. All manufacturers use generic rv appliance parts from stoves to furnaces to vents, door locksets etc. The only thing the trailer manufacturer makes is the body, frame and cabinetry. They cut manufactured foam and have the cushions made, but those raw materials come from elsewhere too. Hope this helps.

Jyl,
That Perris Pacer looks really good. The driver side trailer window is huge. I wish you happy times in your new "Rescue". Congrats and all the best.
