Time to sell our sweet little 1986 Scamp 16' travel trailer. It pulls like a dream - only weighs 1000# (hitch weight 125#). Aerodynamically-designed for minimal wind resistance. Never been smoked in or wrecked - clean as a whistle!!
Kitchenette includes 3-burner stove, refrigerator, sink, and storage. Plenty of cabinets and closets for additional storage.
A separate little room with a door for porta-potti "bathroom privacy".
The rear dinette table folds down to sleep two adults and the front sofa converts to 2 bunks for little kids.
Cross-ventilation all-around with windows that open, plus a nice roof vent.
Power converter, twin propane tanks (with cover), self-storing rear stabilizing jacks, nice curtains over all of the windows. Simple, yet convenient!!

This beauty will provide many years of on-the-road pleasure, without draining your fuel budget. Totally like new - always kept waxed and garaged until the past few months, when it was relocated to an outdoor secure storage facility.
Please send us an email if you would like to set un appointment to look at this little beauty - thanks!!

Hello Robin,
They reduced the price on this one, again. I am looking for something like this but it is too far for me to go for a "look-see". Would you mind going to check this out? I would be happy to travel to pick up the right find, but can't afford to go all over the country just to "look".
Thank you SOOOOO much for your help.
Sincerely,
Crystal

I can take my camera and get some pic's for you and "hopefully" figure out my new computer to get them sent to you. Actually I will pm you my phone number. Robin

Yep, I bought it. I just found this website and have been reading up on what mods I am going to do to it. I had a popup camper and wanted to upgrade to something that insualted against the cold better and didn't require so much time to pop up and down and found this. I will post pictures of my CJ-7 pulling it when I take it out in a couple months.

Congrat's Ben, You will enjoy a fiberglass trailer so much. What kinda shape was this one in? Seemed a little high, price wise, well a lot high to me at first but they kept coming down and down. Enjoy! Robin
There are several of us who are working on getting a fiberglass rally/get together for late June, so watch the forums for info and try to join us. I am sure you would get a lot of great info and ideas from seeing other egg's.

Go out to General Chat and BRAG. It's okay to do so, we love reading about other folks excitement.

Yeah, I ended up getting it for 4500 which appears to be close to market (? - too late now but I am curious if this is a pretty standard price for one in such good shape) so not a real great deal but probably not a bad deal either. The reason I didn't think twice about it was because it is in such great shape. I was told and from the condition it appears true that it was garaged for all but about a year of its life. It has brand new tires all around, recently repacked bearings, etc. The interior is in equally good shape with no stains on the carpet or anywhere, everything works and appears to be in excellent shape, etc. So I think it was worth the money. I am going to put an electric water pump in it and am deciding whether to convert the enclosed bathroom area to a shower, or put shelves in there for storage, or do something else with that area. It already has a dual propane setup but I will probably add a dual battery setup. The other item on the list I am considering is to add a small rack to the back for storage (cooler, wood, water, etc) like I currently have on my popup that is now for sale.
I'll keep checking for info on the rally around here. If you need any help organizing it let me know. I will plan to attend. Might be interesting camping this summer with a 2 year old and newborn (coming in May) but still going to try to get out as much as possible.
Thanks for the welcome.

Ben,
Not bad on the price. Condition can go a long ways on adding to the actual value. I overpaid a bit on my 81 13' because I knew I was keeping it for quite awhile and that it had been kept in Phoenix all it's life, which meant no rot. To me that was a perceived value that I was willing to go a bit high to keep someone else from walking away with it. Sounds like you are in a similar situation where you are buying it for your enjoyment and the beginning condition will go a long way in items you don't have to replace when you add your mods. Can't wait to see some pictures of the interior and what you are going to add...

Ben, If this helps, I sold a 85 in what I would call a fixer up'er for 2 thousand. That's what I paid for it, plus I added new tires, and had ordered parts that it was going to need had I not bought a newer model.
Will keep you informed on the get together. Robin
