Up
for sale is my recently overhauled 1989
Burro 13. This camper was pretty solid when I started it, so it didn't need alot of work.
NOW ON EBAY: 1989 BURRO 13 LIKE SCAMP AND CASITA! NO RESERVE! LOOK!! - eBay (item 170612250473 end time Mar-13-11 17:30:00 PDT)
New items are: floor covering- I replaced the carpet and added a hard wood entry. Windows- I removed the front and rear
windows, replaced the cracked plexiglass with tinted lexan and resealed the
windows with butyl tape and installed them. I only replaced the bad plexiglass, not all of the plexiglass. The frames were also painted. Center Seam- I removed all of the old discolored white trim-lok and replaced with NEW black trim-lok. Headliner: I removed the old worn headliner and replaced it with a new headliner with padding and
Scamp style material. Roof Vent: I removed the damaged roof vent and installed a new roof vent dome.
Tail Lights: All runnng
lights and
tail lights were removed and replaced with new
lights and wiring. The wiring is new from the TV connection to the rear of the camper. The original pancake
lights were replaced with cut in recessed lights for a cleaner look. Running Gear: I removed the wheels and repacked the bearings, the
tires are in good condition. I also installed 1960's era OEM spinner style hub caps. These are not cheap plastic hub caps, they are all steel chromed hubcaps. I am embarassed to say what I paid for them, but the answer is in another posting on this forum if you are that interested. The fresh water fill port was replaced with a new port as was the
electrical suppy access port. I also replaced the fresh water holding tank drain valve with a new valve.
This camper is nice and ready to camp! There are not many bells and whistles in this camper, but thats what makes it nice, SIMPLICITY! No bathroom, no A/C, no heater, but it does have an Ice box and a 2 burner gas cook top. The cushions are 6" foam with custom made covers that can be removed to wash. There are
electrical outlets inside to plug in a ceramic heater or a fan etc...
The
fiberglass exterior is in good condition as well. There are a few of the typical spider cracks, but nothing major and definately no
leaks.
If you are looking for a Nice, Simple camper that needs nothing prior to camping, this is the one. No work involved, just haul it around and enjoy it.
