SOLD: 2008 bigfoot travel trailer 25b25fb

This is an outstanding proprietary 4-season fiberglass travel trailer with insulated walls, dual pane windows and enclosed-heated basement. On the outside upgrades include, 3M plastic rock chip covering on all front panels, extra storage area, custom sway bar attachments, upgraded axles to 5500 lbs each, new tires, additional insulation in the basement and reinforced basement cover and a bigfoot logo added to the fiberglass spare tire cover.

This trailer is the 2008 Anniversary Model and has ALL OPTIONS. See www.wolrigemahon.com/site/wp-content/uploads/bigfoot 2007 travel trailers.pdf. For those unfamiliar with the Bigfoot it is only second in line to the Airstream trailers w/Rear Full Bath Including Shower, Sink, Toilet & Wardrobe, 3 Burner Range, Double Kitchen Sink, Booth Dinette w/Overhead Cabinets, Loveseat, Refrigerator, Front Queen Bed w/Wardrobe, Closet, Pass-Thru Storage, Private Bedroom Entry and more!

It has always been stored undercover but does show a little road wear around the tire skirting. We have camped in this trailer in -18C with full running water and were very comfortable, no freeze up or condensation.

We are the first owners but find we use it on average 4 weekends per year which is not nearly enough so on to a new home for others to enjoy.

The 2014 version now retails at $55,000. We are selling ours for $27,900 OBO.
Located in Calgary, Alberta.

It looks like a great trailer buy. To import it into the States it needs to be certified. What I mean by that is the propane system, chassis such as brakes, axles, bearings be inspected. Then you will need to find a broker at the boarder or a RV dealer to do the import paper work. You will need the import paper work in order to license it in the US.
Now if it were 25 years or older it would be very easy to bring into the US, and not have to go through all the stuff above.

Also can't get the link to work. Appears to be a link to a PDF file which probable isn't a good idea for folks to click on anyway if you don't have a really good anti virus program!

Thanks for that information Chuck. I don't think what you have written is overly burdensome or expensive and should not deter a potential purchaser.

About Importing...

I was under the impression that if a less than 25 Y/O. Canadian trailer had the appropriate DOT certification sticker thereupon that it could slide through customs without a broker???

Several have reported doing just that.

Yes or No or Maybe???

That was my experience Bob, when I sold a 2010 Scamp to folks from the US. They just took it over themselves, no hassle, no extra money.
Not sure if the Bigfoots maybe don't have the DOT sticker, that could be the hitch?

I would recommend if someone wants to buy they call the border crossing they will be using and get the information direct from them and keep the person's name they spoke to

Late last summer I was going to import a Bigfoot 2401 the price was $10,000.00. After doing a lot of calling and talking to Mike Rossman a Bigfoot Dealer in BC, I decided it was not worth the trouble. The trailer was located at Prince Albert,SK Canada.

The question isn't "IF" it can be imported, but one of how much work must be done to import. In the case of a less than 25 y.o. trailer it's all about if having the required DOT sticker or documentation certifying that it meets US standards. (Actually they usually do, you just have to have the proof) If so, it's a slam dunk, if not it may require a bit more work, time and expense to import it.
