The Empty 13' Scamp is suppose to weigh about a 1000 pounds dry + or - 10%. What you put in it and the tow vehicle should be a considering factor... when loaded, I would venture you would be some were between 1500 and 1600 lbs tops.. my guess. As for me, I always loaded heavy because I'm a "be ready for any emergency" Old Scout Master in me I suppose... You would shake your head if I told you what I use to carry. and I never had a problem I couldn't fix.

Kat, Check out the Real World Trailer Weights located here. These are trailers that have been weighed at trailer meets ready for camping. It appears all 3 are the standard 13' Scamps without the bath - my guess is you can add at least another 150lbs to account for the bathroom.Note the tongue weight will also go up accordingly as the bathroom is at the front.. as I said its just my guess to give you some idea as to the possible weight .... have no idea what it may actually weigh.

A/C Ready?
Does this happen to have the reinforcements in the roof to add the air conditioner?

A/C Roof Struts
Since this Scamp was built without an A/C it doesn't have roof braces for the A/C. The roof vent or a small fan was all we ever needed to keep the camper comfortable. John j.

Your Skamp looks just like what we have been looking for, except, perhaps, for the fact that you live in Virginia and we live in Michigan. However, if it meets the one key criterion we have, maybe the distance part can be worked out. The criterion is weight. We made the mistake of getting a new Escape with only a 1500 lb towing capacity. Do you know what the towing weight of your camper is ?

This seems to be a better place than gmail to post my question. So, here it is: I already know the tow-weight limit of my vehicle but need to know the tow weight of the trailer.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks

Jim,
I don't see how that trailer could be less than 1500 pounds.
We have a very basic 05 Scamp with no refrigerator, no furnace, no holding tanks or fresh water tank, and no air conditioner. We weigh in at 1620 loaded.
Now the 13 Scamp is 3 inches taller, that has to add some weight too.
You are going to have a very difficult time finding a 13 Scamp that weighs less than 1500 pounds. Sorry.
I wonder if the Weis Craft Little Joe has been weighed loaded.

Jim, The Weis Craft was in the list, so it was weighed. It was 1380 + 180 tongue, total 1560.
Our bare bones Scamp was down 4 lines. we weighed 1400 + 200 total 1600. I've tried to lighten our load since then. Left some books at home!
Maybe you could get the Weis Craft weight down, they may have had water, refrigerator, etc on board.
Do check out the sticky under general chat for real weights....

Here it is again: how much does the your 13' scamp weigh.
Thanks
