Rhondalyn, I was totally skeered to camp alone, so I joined a couple of lady camping groups and also Tin Can Tourists (combo of vintage and new campers). I have had a wonderful time these past 8 years camping and making new friends

I don't want to sway your decision Rhonda, honest. But on Facebook someone mentioned "solos." I'm single, no SO, but I'd rather camp alone than be home... I know what my home looks like and the YARD... make memories!

Rhonda: I totally agree with Pam's and Donna's comments - make memories life is way too short. However, your the best judge on how to handle your situation (re: health issues, etc...). No matter what you decide to do, the FGRV community will support you in what ever way it can!

Rhonda, No one knows your situation and concerns as completely as you, so we all understand that it is obviously and totally your decision, but please don't let the fear of camping alone weigh into your decision. Most organized rallies have a lot of single (for various reasons) women attendees who often form their own social/support group and have a blast together. Not to mention everyone else at the rally being there to help in time of need or to party/fellowship with. There are single campers, male and female, who provide care for sick loved ones and elderly parents, but an occasional weekend camping rally is their chance to get away for a brief time, to clear their head and rejuvenate their spirit - to have a little "me time" - all with the understanding and blessing of the person(s) they care for. So just don't forget to take care of yourself - physically and mentally - during trying/challenging times. That's important, too.... Dale

Rhonda - You need to plan to camp with the Egg Camping club - you won't be camping alone, as there will be others of us there, single and double. Some of our single campers are way braver than I'd think of being - going all over the USA with their campers.

Rhonda,

I once worked in a shelter, really to find out what it was all about, as a result I opened a soup kitchen. I learned that the Beatles phrase "all the lonely people where do they all come from" is true. There are so many lonely people that really crave companionship.

Of course I know nothing about you in your circumstances, but when I was a church goer there were many nice people, lonely people, many alone in the world who might enjoy a trip into your world. Just something to think about.

I do not mean to cross any social or forum boundaries here, just musing.

Well I had said I was interested, but to be honest.. I am going with a smaller Scamp instead.. and I will be traveling with only a dog for a companion, so my advice is, if the sale is not for health, financial or similar reasons, rethink it! I'm SOOOOO looking forward to doing some real traveling which is just not practical in a pop-up.

Parkliner

What a neat camper. I'm new to the forum so not sure how all this works. Is it still available?

Brenda, welcome to the forum.

The usual way to communicate with a seller to discuss price, share personal contact information, etc. is by private message (PM). Click on the seller's user name to the left of her post, and a drop-down menu will give the option of a PM. If you're using the app, tap the seller's avatar, then tap the envelope icon in the upper right of the user profile.

Rhonda, when I got my PL in September I had never pulled a trailer of any kind. I am so new at this but I have learned from each adventure and feel more confident each time I use her. I think there are more and more women traveling with their trailers. You were so excited to get your Parkliner it would be nice to give her a few outings before deciding you don't want to keep her. I just came home from spending 3 days in "Folly" at an agility trial. There were 5 trailers and 4 of them were towed there by women. Good luck to you whatever you decide to do.
