I have researched and emailed Scamp on my stove top... they dont make mine anymore so I am looking for one that isnt rusted... its the stainless steel... The powdercoat wont work, and no one that i know referbishes the stainless. I would rather not have the stainless..
If you know of anyone who has replaced thier stove top and has one of these please pm me...

thanks

Christi,
Unless it's ferrous based stainless, (most is nickel based), it is probably actually brushed chrome. Real thin chrome has a tendency to rust rather easily. I suspect that the "brushing" process often cuts through the chrome. A heavier chrome coat without "brushing" might be an alternative if you don't locate a replacement.
Auto Body Repair shops should be able to suggest where you could take it.
Please keep us informed on your progress.

You can remove the rust using ZUD found in most grocery stores... I bought mine at Safeway. It's a powder like Comet. I also use it in my stainless steel sink. Because the metal is pitted, the rust will come back. But Zud and a little elbow grease is cheap in comparison to replacement. If it was in my home, I might replace the stove just because I didn't care the way it looked. But FOR ME, this is a trailer, it looks perfectly acceptable and more importantly, works just fine.

Your mileage may vary.
