Any ideas what it is worth? I am trying to set the selling price on a Scamp 13 2001. No bathroom, just and icebox, no propane fridge. Does have the propane heater. add-on, removable window air. deep cycle battery. excellent, clean condition. Since I started advertizing last week have not had any inquiries, tells me the price is too high, but how low do I go?

original ad is here:

Since making the ad I realized it is a 2001, not a 2000.

Possibly it's not overpriced, you're just not targeting the right audience. How about listing it on FGRV and Casita Club? You'll surely get more hits.
Just a thought...

I was thinking the same thing Lisa. I'm wondering if the Uncle Henry's site is too obscure? Something like CraigsList may bring forth more interest

Hi Paul,

I have been collecting sales statistics on Scamps for awhile. I did it before I bought mine so I would know what a good price would be. I calculated the current new price on each one and then determined what they sold for as a percentage of the current new price. Based on your ad, I came up with a current new price (if you bought it today from the factory) of about $9594. 2001 Scamps sell for around 78% to 82% of new. I would calculate that yours is worth around $7483 to $7867 depending on condition. Your price of $6900 is a bit low if anything.

I agree with Donna and the others that your listing location could be improved. Besides the locations already mentioned, don't forget eBay and the Scampers yahoo group. In my experience, Scamps that are in good to very good condition and are priced fairly sell within a week or less if the right advertising is done.

Good luck!

John

Thanks. I put the Scamp 13 up on Craigslist and will see about your suggestions tomorrow.

Hope this link works:

Do you still have this for sale? I could not find it in the Uncle Henrys. If so, did you decide on a price?

Try this link
The original link may have changed if they changed details such as the year.

Just follow the link and enter "Scamp" into the sites search box. It pops right up.

Hi John,

I just found this site and you seem to have a lot of knowledge about these trailers, thanks for sharing. I've been looking at these trailers for many years and am now thinking of taking the plunge. I was emailing with owner of the one in New Mexico, and from what I could tell that was exactly what I wanted. I really want the bathroom/shower combo.

So the big question, where is the best place to shop for a 16 foot Scamp? ebay, craigs list, this site? Are there others? That model seems to attract me more than others, but I'm open to other brands too. The Tillim looks interesting as well. Is there any comparison of all the makes and models out there?

I'm in northern california if you know of any for sale in this area.

Thanks,

Rye
