WI: Lake Wallenpaupack: 1991 17' Horizon

Can't say that I have seen this one before. Great looking floorplan, not to mention apparent condition and appearance. For the price it would seem hard to beat. If I were about 2500 miles closer I would take a look with cash in hand. That said, the sizes of the tanks seem a bit overstated....

1991 17' Horizon Travel Trailer -- $5,500 -- Lake Wallenpaupack, PA

1991 Horizon Molded Fiberglass Travel Trailer -- $5,500
Very unique model with the following features: stove, 3 way fridge, bath with shower & toilet, large bed with memory foam mattress (approx 74x74), many solid oak cabinets for storage and a two door closet with bar for hanging clothes, new (2009) hot water heater 6gal., new (2009) Goodyear tires, new (2009) propane tank 20lb., converter from 110v to 12v, with new battery.,7’ awning., A large fresh water tank 34gal., and one very large black water/gray water tank 42gal. This is called a 17’ trailer but has a small platform on the rear, so the actual body of trailer is 12’3”Lx76”Wx76”H. The inside headroom is around 73 ½”. Weighs approx. 2150 lbs. Tows easily with a medium size vehicle that has a large V6 or small V8. This is a two-piece molded fiberglass camper like the Scamps, Casita’s etc., but this is really built well, with foam insulation in roof, under floor, and all sides like the Bigfoot campers. I’m asking $5,500 which is an incredible price for this unique travel trailer with all the updates.
Email excellent4sale@gmail.com for additional information.
Here is a summary of the updates that were done to the trailer in 2009:
  1. New plumbing with all new pex pipe
  2. New electronic power converter
  3. New Fantastic fan
  4. New Goodyear Marathon tires
  5. New magnet for pass side electric brake
  6. New kitchen faucet
  7. Put shut offs on kitchen faucet, bath faucet, & toilet
  8. New Traffic-master floor
  9. New 20lb propane tank
  10. New water heater, with new copper tubing propane line
  11. New body molding over seam
  12. Hot water heater by-pass valve installed
  13. Winterizing kit installed
  14. New bath faucet
  15. New Thetford Aqua-Magic toilet with china bowl and pedal flush
  16. Gas shut off for future heater/furnace
  17. New double dome lights
  18. New shades and curtains
  19. New backsplash

Interesting, it's like the Lil Snoozy layout.

Squinting and looking at the license plate, this looks like the exact same trailer Tim Wood posted about back in 07-18-2009, 05:19 PM: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...etc-38943.html

oh gosh, the link I posted above is actually Tim's trailer: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...hab-35490.html

I have looked at this thing a few times. I worked for New Horizons in the mid-90s in the office and they made something that looked like this but I don't think it was molded fiberglass and it was called a "Vanmate" and had the exact same floor plan. They only made a few because they were not that popular. They had a 17' and a 19' and the cabinets were nice like the one this has because they had a cabinet shop. They started business in the old Mobile Traveler facility around 1991 and later moved to their current facility. It is just so weird and I even googled to try to find a picture for comparison but I could not find any.

Van Mate... Did You Say "Van Mate"

I looked at a Van Mate just last month, it's about 30 miles from me. Very different but a great floorplan. Here is a link with pics. Actually I offered what he is now asking. He turned me down and I bought a much nicer Hunter Compact-II for even less.

But here's the link to his ad.

Except I don't think this has the jackkife sofa (or room to sit anywhere but on the bed), unlike the Snoozy.

I had one of these campers about 3-4 years ago, and they are an excellent quality close to a Bigfoot indeed. Good Luck with your sale.

Mike it looks like there are seats just ahead of the bed - with red striped material on them - looks like a spot between for a small table.... hard to say for sure though from the photo.... actually that may be a small round table on the floor.

The small round object in the #3 pic is shown from a different angle in the #5 pic.
Looks like a folding stool or seat.

This looks to me like the back half is similar to Lil Snoozy... and the front half is similar to Little Joe, or maybe a Compact Jr. with a permanently tall roof.
