As Doug has mentioned I have indeed agreed to help put together another pot luck for Saturday Night.
As I have only heard from a few folks so far the table is pretty well wide open as to what you can bring, Warm dishes, salads and desserts are all needed.

So far we have a Greek Salad, Meat Balls in a Crockpot and a cold Asian salad lined up.

Some good ideas can be found in the recipe section of Chatelaine.com.
Chatelaine.com Recipe Search

In the Search for Recipe section select “Potluck in the drop down menu under “Select an Occasion”

I can see the guys who are on their own on the week-end and who claim to not know how to cook rolling their eyes at the above. Please note guys that a store bought dessert is ok with me. We can also use some fresh dinner buns.

Send me an email at Carol.P.Hale at Gmail.com (replace the at with the ampersand symbol) and let me know what you are bringing so we do not end up with to many of the same thing.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the Fort.

Carol

As I am heading down to the Oregon Coast tomorrow I may not respond before August 24th to e-mails regarding the pot luck.

We need some deserts and main dishes still. So far the following is all I know about:

Greek Salad
Crock pot of beef meatballs
Broccoli salad
Asian Salad

Hey Brandy,

A friend of mine years ago told me to double the "c" and add 30. It'll put you within a couple of "f" degrees.

20c doubled is 40 + 30 = 70 degrees f

It may not be totally accurate but it's close enough for me.

I'm one of those people that will tell you it's 2:30pm when in fact it might only be 2:26 and 10 seconds.

I try not to let all the menutia bother me.

As for me, I'm more a "Type A" personality, where I want to know that is is 68° F (293.15° K ) etc. I use a free utility program called "convert.exe" available at: http://wscope.com/convert.htm

I want to thank everyone who made the pot luck a wonderful event. The food and the company was great. I had to work Sunday, , the drive over 4 hrs., the park management was gracious in letting us stay on the site to 1 pm. and we thought we would stay for the potluck and make the trip home at night. You made it worthwhile. Thanks.

Kent, now DON'T forget to come back for our MAY event.

...a word of caution, Craig DID manage to ' up' the dates for our May event.

It WILL still be held the weekend before 'our' long weekend, but he got the actual dates wrong....

As Doug so politely points out, the dates for the May 2009 weekend were stated incorrectly at the meet but will still be the week before the May Long Weekend. It so happens that the official rule is that the holiday is on the Monday preceding May 25th. That means the 2009 holiday will be May 18th. The campout will be the week before; May 8th, 9th and 10th. (provided we get the dates from the campground)...

Hey Gang!

First Dawn and I would like to say thanks for last weekend, was lots of fun!

So the above dates for May 2009 are pretty much set provided that we get the dates from the campground? The reason I am concerned is I am booking my holidays for next year in a week or two..

Cheers!

Oh yah.. Just wondering if any pictures for the last meet have been posted yet..
