I had to look that one up. Even my wife, the artist, didn't recognize the phrase.

Yes, though I haven't painted in a while, I was thinking of taking all the equipment when we finally get rolling.

Paul's working on the galley framework as I write...

I've noticed some gatherings seem to specialize in plein air painters...but they are quite far from us. Still, who knows?

BEST!ola

Nova Scotia far from Seattle?

Why do you say it's so loong?
On my map, it's only about 17 inches!

Not a plein air painter, but a plein air sketch and drawer. Nice to have a set of drawing materials and a pad and draw some of the items seen right around the campsite; trees, animals, other campers, etc.

I, too, am a plein air sketcher and sometime watercolorist. When not camping/traveling I sketch with a group at home who have met every Monday for over 25 years! I just returned from a 19-day group tent camping trip to Southern Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. There, on safari, I challenged myself to sketch the animals we saw such as elephant, giraffe, impala, baboons and lions. I had little time to do quick sketches and the animals kept moving but I'm happy with my improvement in ability to capture the essence of the animals while others were happily snapping photos. Sketching forces meto really "see" what is before me and provides a special documentary of my trip.
