My husband is the crochet/knitter in our family. The sewing machine we own is not mine either. He learned it from his father who would order his yarn from Germany and drag me to the fabric store so he could sew something for us. My husband crocheted the receiving blanket for our oldest son. Too bad it was August and 103 degrees, no air in the car, the day we brought him home.

How Lucky for you!! That means you get to be the "Giftee" instead of always the "Gifter", LOL. I wish I had a knitter/crocheter friend or relative. I never seem to get around to making anything for myself.

Quick, somebody post a picture. I've been itching (like wool) for my wife to connect with this forum, more. She knits in the trailer because it has good light from the window behind the dinette bench. Actually it was needlepoint this morning, but it changes with the season!
Regards,
Matt

Hi Ann B. ... Haven't tried it yet, but oh my yes, it does look glorious! At the moment I'm working on a Tiger Eye scarf using Plymouth Yarn Boku (wool & silk) ... wonderful to work with and, after about 2 feet of knitting (and ripping out ) have [B]finally[B] gotten the hang of the pattern
Maggie (sitting by the woodstove just a-knitting)

Oh how totally cool! How'd you get to be a test knitter?!? That'd be really fun ... I think!? Re: WIPs ... let's see ... in the knitting basket today is Tiger Eye scarf (scarves?), socks, and facecloths.
How big is your stash? :-)

I just finished up a beautiful scarf using a new-to-me stitch that makes a glorious circle pattern.
Am now on row five of a Narciso lace scarf using Chroma's lollipop
Gawd, I love these winter days
Have you seen the Yarn Harlot's mawata made mittens?
What're you all up to?
Maggie, aka Maggins on Ravelry (but I've not ever posted anything!)

Ooooo ... look at how the Chroma "Lollipop" is working up in the Narciso scarf. Really nice to work with and is working up a pretty little halo

Late to the party, but I, too, am a knitter, spinner and weaver. In fact, I ended up opening a shop to satisfy my addiction...er...I mean, supply like-minded folk with fibers and yarns and supplies. Stop by when you're up my way in Minne-nosnow-ta. BTW, I have MANY UFO's (unfinished objects) not limited to fiber arts projects...I also have a 3/4 finished teardrop trailer.
