Cabinet / Furniture Making

One of my hobbies is cabinet and furniture making.
This hobby along with my fully equipped shop came in very handy during the rebuild of my Boler.
I thought I would share a project I made for my son many years ago. The bed is solid oak (all made form rough sawn lumber). Drawers are 36” deep and suspended on full extension sliders.

Great job Ian, I love the way you matched up the grain patterns on the footboard.

Great job.
My wife has been after me for years to do the
same thing with our king bed.

Thank you for your appreciation.
I find that woodworking is my stress reliever.
After a hard day or week in the office I go into my shop and just get lost in the work and creativity.

I could not have put it better, fellow Albertan. I do the same thing. Woodworking became a passion with my Grade 9 shop teacher kicking it off. I have worked in garages most of my life, but I finished the shop of my dreams in the last few years.

Whereabouts in the province do you call home?

Vic

Hi Vic
I live in Calgary, I cannot call my shop a dream shop but it has everything I need except storage

My Dad started me woodworking when I was about 6, making simple projects like bird houses and bowls, over the years it has progressed to furniture, cabinets and entire kitchens.
