Classic or Collectible Vehicles

Being that I'm a car nut, I like to see what people have for classic or collectible vehicles. Do you have one? Let's see it

For me, I collect a couple old Datsun pickups. Here is one of mine.

This is my 1965 Datsun L320 pickup. This one is all original with only 48,000 miles on it. It even still has the original paint. I restored it over 15 years ago. It has a whopping 60 horse power Its not very roomy or fast but a lot of fun to drive.

Boy! that puppy is in NICE shape! I bought a new '73 PL620, but it was a bit sissy looking compared to your truck, and remarkably unreliable.

here are pictures of some of my past and present projects ...
the first picture is of a project completed 32 years ago, I found it this year as you see it after it had been left outside for 30 years. The second is a "G" production SCCA nationally ranked race car for which I was Crew Chief. The third is my present project 1970 SuBARu 360 sedan 360 CC two cylinder KEI microcar.
The last is a collage of a few more..
The Model "A" is a street rod which was our family car for a couple of years, My design Mybuild took a year.

The '52 pickup is my '85 econoline chassis and $500 worth of scrap parts and only 6 weeks work.

The '71 Cougar was blue and high mileage before it became my project 351C.

The '52 when finished

Last is an SCCA Midwest Council I.T. Championship car on which I had the privilege of being Crew Chief.

Thanks Floyd!!

Well I just happen to have a 620 as well.

My 620 is a 1979. It's the last year for the 620. Your 73 would have been the 1st year of the 620's.

My 1st new vehicle I ever purchased was a 1979 620 (not this one).

My red one is pretty original as well. It has been repainted though. This one has air conditioning too.

When I painted it it was a rangoon red w/ wimbleton white top 1952 Ford business coupe with a coronado kit shown on the trunk. It is a little "orange" from 30 years sitting next to the woodpile.
I considered buying it back and restoring or hot rodding it, but the present owner has an unrealistic idea of it's value.

The "Subie" is one of fewer than 7000 vehicles sold in the U.S. from 68 to 71. Deloreon imported them privately without Subaru's Sanction or support.
They were called su-BAR-u, at the time. I have gone to cruise nights in that car in the unrestored condition shown and garnered more attention than cars worth 10-20 times it's value!
It weighs only 925# and seats 4, claims 66MPG and will run about 70MPH. It is a two stroke with oil injection

My 1973 Datsun PL620 was bright red like yours, there were no small American trucks at the time, so we really liked have it, even though we went in to buy a 1200 sedan.
The 1200 sedan was a great car but in '73 it was replaced by the 210 [not their best effort] so we bought the "LiL'Hustler" as it was called.
I once saw a PL620 with a Holmes wrecker body in Paducah KY. It was the Datsun dealers Tow truck and they towed full sized cars with it!

OK, I'll bite ...

Here's my white 84 Volvo 244 GL in the middle at the 2008 Eurofest at BMW in Spartanburg. And again at another FL VCOA meet last year.

The 85 245 DL (wagon) at Volvo's at Ikea Orlando last year.

Both have over 200,000 miles. Original engines, trannies, and paint.

The coupe was a flathead,....

but the truck was a 1980 Ford Econoline chassis, from a roleover.
The cab was a 1952 F1.
The box was constructed from a scrap box with the Econoline floor welded in.
It had the venerable 4.9L (300CID) 6CYL with a 4spd overdrive.
The truck was constructed in about 6 weeks for total cost of about $750.
The most difficult engineering was the steering, since the 52 cab was about 2 feet further back on the frame than the econoline was.
I last saw the truck about 15 years after I built it, though it was built for fun and not for show,it was still in great shape.

Hey Phil. I like the early Trans Ams. We almost but a 1979 root beer brown one with T-top back when my wife and I were 1st married. But... the loan didn't go through. I really couldn't afford it at the time, but I sure wanted it Prob a good thing I didn't get it. But I love those cars.!

I still have a set of hubcaps sitting in the garage that came off a '54 metropolitan.
Here I am about 1960 with a Canadian-made 54 Meteor Niagara and here'a a 58/9 Vauxhall that I owned.
oops! That's our brand new 67 Dart.

Didn't Smokey and the Bandit make the Trans Am popular if I remember right?
