Conrad, what a good story. Bet your dad sleep on the couch for a spell after that move!!!
I saw my 1st split window when I was kid. We were traveling through California in August of 62. Wow was I impressed.
In the mid 70's bought a 69/427 from a guy locally. He had traded a 63 for the 69 thinking it was a step up. He soon regretteded the move.
This was the 69. I smashed it up (not ) but it was repaired. I then sold it. It was not a very practical vehicle.

The car I most regret selling was my 1969 Pontiac Firebird Sprint with the 6 cylinder factory 4 barrel and 4 speed in Hugger Orange with Black Vinyl top. It was a blast to drive, but being young and foolish did not realise at the time that I should have kept it. Now I want it back and can not find where it is. Or maybe if I find a 1966 to 1977 early Ford Bronco, it might make me forget about the Firebird.

NS.... I owned a 75 450SEL years ago. One of the best car I ever owned.
Saw this nice 380SL TD for sale around here not that long ago. Very rare. Would look great towing an Egg.
Rick. Those HP 6cyl Firebirds were rare. I recall only seeing a couple in my entire life.

I almost bought that car. Should have moved quicker. I spoke to the seller. It was on eBay.

Shoot, I have a bunch of old junk, err I mean classic collectable vehicles on the place. The oldest is a 1957 Chevy 2 ton truck cut down as a mobile home toter, pretty cool. My favs are a two owner (me second) 1965 Dodge Coronet 4 door slant six family sedan, a 1968 Chevy K10 4X4 pickup, and a two owner (me second) 1970 Chevy one ton with 40K original miles. Heck my daily driver is a two owner 1995 Toyota Corolla Station Wagon with 92K miles on it. The 1988 Scamp felt right at home when she arrived a couple of months ago.

Actually, one of the 17 other vehicles I did not mention and the newest one I own (and the only one I ever bought "new"). A 2003 F150.

Here's my 1950 Plymouth. An ongoing project. Completely rewired, lowered, disc brakes, 5 speed from a Chevy truck. Still running the 100 horsepower flathead.

Home built hot rod, built by yours truly between '98 and '01...
It is in pieces right now while I stretch the chassis a bit, paint everything and upgrade a bunch of stuff. Still not sure what color to do. Body is a stretched (8") '23T, black gel coat.
Motor is a 412 cu. in. sbc, th350 tranny, jag rear end. I built the chassis and fabbed most all the bracketry.
Rebuild will take a while, as both money and time are in high demand...
Frank

Nice !!!
I love hot rods.
Why are most hot rods I see automatics?
Seems like stick shift would be more fun.
Is it because it is harder to fabricate?

My current project is a 1962 Toyota Land Cruiser short box pickup. Needs everything mechanical, but the body & frame are straight & original.
