Travis - He's a Mealy, one of the largest Amazons. He loves opera, and makes up his own words - they sound Italian, I guess. He's pretty entertaining.

Spud looks like he doesn't miss anything going on around him. Maybe it's those ears? Our rat terrier has those ears, and I swear she can hear you thinking. What does "ratha" mean?

I bet it's a ratcha, a Chihuahua/ Rat Terrier hybrid. Looks like one, and "ratha" is only missing the "c".

We all love our dogs, but I am partial to hybrids! I think mixing genetics is a good thing, and results in smarter dogs with less problems than the pure breeds they come from.

Your mileage may very...

Here is our newest cat Rusty, He has just turned 1 year old and loves camping and going for walks.

It was a tough year ,last year as we lost both of our old cats, Poly in January and Mittens in September. The wife said it "was too damn quite" so I found this guy on Kijiji (owners roommate was allergic). He is suppose to be a Maine Coon but the vet doesn't think so. Either way he is a great cat and will say hello to anyone we meet on his walks around the neighbourhood.

You might be right on the R-T / Chihuahua mix. Spuds has some of both it seems. Mixed breeds can be healthier, but sometimes you don't know what health problems the dogs parents had. One reason we usually get pure bred dogs is because you tend to know what you're going to end up with. That cute little fur ball you bring home doesn't grow into a 100+ lb fur ball, when you only have room for a small dog. When I hunted bunnies, only a beagle would do. When my wife grew tired of vacuuming dog hair, we got mini-schnauzers who don't shed. etc.,etc. It pays to know your breeder. If you're adopting healthy adult dogs, and the size and temperament suits you, the mixed blood probably helps. Like you say, YMMV.

Thats just funny

"True Story" My wife came home a while back and said one of her co-workers had the prettiest dog. She said they said it was a "Sooner" breed. She had never heard of this before. I smiled and said "Honey, that's a name we use in the south for a mixed breed. "He's just as soon be one breed as another; Sooner". Or it can be used more like a descriptive word for a dog. In other words it's like; "That darn dog would sooner urinate on the porch than on a tree". That's just funny.

Holly, our 12 year old JR. The sand was awfully hot so she dug a trench under my wife's chair and rolled in so as to keep her feet off the burning sand.

Well our Rusty found his spot in the casita! Had the upper cupboard door open and he just jumped in and curled up.

This is perfectly reasonable since all cats know they are master of all they can see. Can see whole camper "world" form here. Where else would I go?

Oh yeah, I can relate to that! My Bobby believes his share of the bed is right wherever he choses.

You can now buy trailers — for your pet. Starting at $800, you can choose carpet, tile, or hardwood, as well as indoor lighting and wireless speakers.

My Katrina would be like a bull in a china shop in one of those, but they sure are cute if you've got money to burn!

This is Miss Bliss, a ten year old bearded collie. She ended up with a serious case of bed head our first night in our trailer.

She looks like she slept like a log. Glad you captured that memory in a photo. Have many more!
