Help I can't find this!

So I know this isn't a Fiberglass molded camper but this is the only site I like so please help!

Today I was driving past a gentleman's house and saw a RV I HAVE to have!!
The problem is he didn't seem to know what it is and I'm trying to figure out what I'm getting my self into before I do it! Any help would be awesome!

It is an early model Winnebago. Here is what I know it has.
-Split Windshield
-Around 26 foot long
-4 cylinder diesel engine
-To the best of my knowledge it has a straight body that doesn't poke out after the driver door.
-The gentleman said he thinks it's made of aluminum and steel.
-It has clearance lights on the front cab.
-It's not real tall
-The front nose sticks out
-Squared headlights
-It's a pretty small looking camper (compared to the big pigs today.)
-All one piece, not a front cab

I thought this could be a Lesharo but the split windshield throws me...
I thought maybe the Freeway but that doesn't seem to match up....

Please help!

Best way to find out exactly what it is, go back, copy the VIN located on the drivers door, front drivers door pillar or lower part of wall just behind the drivers door. Google that number, get all the info you need.

Sounds like a Rialta, VW drivetrain. OK, windshield is not spilt on the Rialta.

A 4 cylinder even if diesel sounds like it would be something smaller than those but I have no idea.

Trek's initial motorhome effort way back when was a small one with a 4 cylinder diesel. But I can't recall its' appearance.......

Without much else to go on I'll take a bling stab at this and say you might have seen a Clark Cortez. Search for images.

A search on the Clark Cortez motorhome's engines produced the following:

Very rare motorhome. Originally came with a slant 6 from the factory in 68, in 71 they up graded the drivetrain with a toronado fwd drive train, three-speed automatic and 455 V8.

The 1991 Safari Trek was the first year of production which used the Isuzu NPR truck chassis. This was a 3.9 Liter turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine (4BD1T) with 126HP output mated to a four speed automatic Jatco transmission with overdrive. The Isuzu NPR provided 14mpg to 16mpg which was unheard of at the time for a Class A motorhome, though most owners realized more like 13 to 14 mpg.

Couldn't find a photo of that early 24' Trek model.

How 'bout a Vixen? I can't recall whether they had a Peugeot or Renault diesel. The Vixen has the split windshield and is rear-engined similar to the Corvair motorhomes of the '60s.



Then there's the Ford-powered Coachmen Clarion of the early '90s that is similar to your description, but I don't know if there were ever any done with a diesel, and they have a one-piece windshield:
