Our Debut at the Fly Fishing Show

I belong to Sisters on the fly, a group of ladies that enjoy camping, fishing, horseback riding and anything fun. They participated in the Fly Fishing Show in the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend and asked me to bring my trailer to show others our cute vintage trailers. Well you should have seen me maneuvering it through this Fairgrounds builing past all the vendor booths. It was so much fun today. Everyone was very interested in my little Scamp and asked so many questions. Many were interested in possibly buying a FG trailer. I referred the to this website to learn more and to view our classified section.

Hi Linda,

Isn't it amazing how much attention our little trailers get. I have had toll operators thumbs up the Casita as I passed through. At rest stops, I have given tours to people fascinated by the trailer.

Sister on the Fly seems like a great group and you have represented them well!

Thanks guys!
Donna, I took the vinyl faux wood floor planks I used on the floor inside, painted them red, cut them in half lengthwise and attached them with the sticky backing they have as well as a little Marine/nonpermanent caulk (NOT SILICONE!). I did that about 10 mo. ago and its held up perfectly so far.

Sounds like a fun event. Do you fly fish?

I've fished my whole life, but I'm just starting fly fishing. I love it. What I noticed about the people at this show that fly fish, is that they were all happy people. Everyone I saw and talked to, were in such a good mood. I've been to lots of different trade and hobby shows, and none made this kind of impression on me. It was great fun.

I mentioned this conversation to my hubby earlier today. He thought that fly fishing people (he is one of them) are happy because just do the things they enjoy, they don't give a tinker's cuss about what is 'in'! Also accounts for why they might enjoy owning something 'novel and unique' like an egg.

Hazel, I agree with your hub. They're a great bunch of folks.

Lynn, Thanks for the compliment. You would love SOTF. The group started as a fishing group, but they're now calling themselves "outdoor adventrue group". Not everyone is into "adventures" either. We do everything, and nothing. I'm even taking an Alaskan cruise with them in September. Joining is one of the best things I've done. Check us out on Sistersonthefly.com and on Facebook.

Hi Linda,
I'm sorry I missed the Fly Fishing Show. I certainly would have been there had I known you were a part of it. I recommend that others look at additional photos of your darling Scamp in the registry. (Simply click on "registry" under Linda's avatar).
