Sounds like your using the actual NikonAF-S 105mm f/2.8 VR IF-ED macro
Results look great; Have only used the Cannon 100mm f/2.8L Macro and Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG Macro on the Sony; yours is a fine lens

Island Beach State Park, on one of New Jersey's barrier islands, has a small fox population that are habituated to humans and are much fun to photograph. We met this vixen earlier this year during a winter photo expedition there.
At that time, she and her boyfriend had established a den together and were preparing for a new family of kits by lining the den with hair ripped out of their sides - you can see that here, the big dark patch.
But as of early December it's a little early for that sort of thing, and on this visit her coat was looking spectacular.

Eclipse December 10, 2011
We had an eclipse this morning in Vancouver, but clouds moved in before it was full. Was anyone able to capture the full eclipse?

Last night's didn't make it here in the East. Living on the lee of a Great Lake, we don't have all that many cloudless nights anyway. The last eclipse I managed to shoot was in 2004. A bunch of individual frames assembled in Photoshop.

Too foggy here too Brian.....most the pictures I've seen from this part of the world look a lot like yours, which is a great shot!
I broke my knee cap the day before (Friday) so though i'd planned to set up my camera, given the fog, just laid in bed and watched it get darker out!

There are some wonderful pictures of the eclipse here:

Jon: Perhaps you can give us some help in getting ready for the next eclipse in 2014! Your photos of the 2004 eclipse are wonderful!

I can tell you what not to do - I didn't plan on the moon moving quite as much as it did over the period of the eclipse. It went behind a tree just after the full shadowing (when it turned red). I had to move the camera location & managed to turn the camera. If you look at the craters you will find they "jumped" in the remaining photos. I should fix it but never got around to it.
As to suggestions - I used a 200mm lens, used the "Sunny 16" rule (a basic rule for setting a camera exposure in bright sunlight - f: 16 @ a shutter speed equal to the ISO.) Since the moon is reflected sunlight, that is a good starting point. I also bracketed a couple of stops above & below. I shot a group of images every 20 minutes or so over the entire eclipse. I did have to open up quite a bit for the full eclipse - the dull red color is quite a bit dimmer than the rest of the lighting.
As to assembling, it was basically cut & paste of individual shots into one frame.

It is becoming rather rare to see film based pictures; did you take this great one recently? Zone system was a little harder than digital HDR but there is no digital system capable of matching the resolution from 4x5 yet. I switched totally to digital and my Hasselblad and Nikon film systems are collecting dust for the last few years. I am dreaming to get a digital back but it will take a while for prices to become reasonable, if ever, at least for no pro. Great picture.
George.
