Dry Falls, WA

This is a section of Washington States "Grand Canyon". Dry Falls may have been the largest waterfall ever known at 3.5 miles wide. We caught this on our maiden voyage in our new (to us) Bigfoot. Not as grand as the one in Az, but well worth the trip.

While heights generally don't bother me, standing at the end of this walkway at Dry Falls introduced pretty good "pucker factor!)

It's only 1 degree outside so I didn't expect to see a pair of goldfinches for another week or two. Sometimes they wait until May. This one is all puffed up and hunkered down behind the winter burlap protecting a bush from frost.

Right on...once you get it there's no cure for Nikon fever. Currently using my 9th Nikon, a D700.

I am still mourning the demise of Kodachrome!

Actually, I am using a Canon Power Shot SX50HS with it's 50 power lens. I started carrying this on canoe trips to eliminate the need for another pack pack just to carry the extra lenses. Click image for larger version

I guess you never really know what is around the next corner, or in this case - over the crest of the next hill. This gal gave me quite a shock. - and I'll use that as an excuse for the low quality image!

We were driving home from Phoenix today and happened to catch the afterglow from sunset in Salt River Canyon. Scattered thunderstorms and smoke from area fires made for spectacular colors. I'm afraid my antiquated iPhone 4 camera doesn't do it justice, but thought I'd share anyway.
