We purchased our boler to paint, draw and photograph rare wild flowers, birds, animals and more. The photograph linked is from our backyard.

Great to live in God's country

The place is Rollins Pond Campground in the Adirondacks near Saranac Lake, New York.
Bring your camera. The light is intriguing.
Bring your fishing pole. They're almost always biting.
Bring your boat. The paddling, like the weather and the company, is sublime.

We went camping this week to Whidbey Island. While the temperature dropped to freezing overnight, we were snug in our trailer, and managed to get some nice pictures. Here is a picture of Mount Rainier seen from Fort Ebey.

Alf... check for a PM.
As for electric, get yourself a little converter like this one for example to plug into the car power port. They can be found really cheap these days. That's how I charge my camera batteries and the laptop that I use to dump photos on to free up camera memory midway through a trip. Whenever we hop in the truck for a trip to town or to pick up bait or whatever, stuff gets charged up and we needn't invest in a 12 volt camera battery charger (if you can even find such a thing.)

Supermoon 2011

We were blessed with clear skies and a perfect chance to see the Supermoon tonight.

Thanks!

I very nearly did not take the picture. I was almost asleep and my wife said, "you have to see the moon". It really was wonderful, and the sky was clear, so I went out and worked on getting the shot. It took some trial and error. Eventually I found that using the spot meter for exposure gave approximately the right definition of the detail. I used f/11 aperture which is the sharpest on my lens. Did a bit of cleanup in Photoshop Elements 9. I was happy with the result. Full resolution version is found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brian_v...7817/lightbox/

We spent a few days this week in the Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Bay View area of Washington State. Tulips are quite late this year but daffodils are beautiful. Lots to see and do in the area!

Beautiful photo of the tulips, Brian. Holland, MI has a tulip festival every year and this year I purchased a Canon DSLR and can't wait until the tulips bloom and I can try my hand at some great photos. My crocuses are just starting to bloom; tulips and daffodils shouldn't be far behind.

Marsha:

Thank you. The tulips are late here this year because of cool weather. The ones that were out were in the garden at Roozengaarde. Last year we made a trip to the Mount Vernon WA area in early April and all the field tulips were out.

Some very nice pictures posted here. Just retired, I'm beginning to take interest in photography as a hobby, again! I recently purchased a pocket digital to take with me as I travel around town.

Very nice Jon. Sky blues seem more vibrant at higher altitudes, or is that my imagination? It looks like others made the walk in as well.
