Thnxs Jim.... it would stay in my personal photo album.

PS... Jim, can you tell us what camera/lens you used to take this photo?

It was a Canon 5D MkII, with a 17-40 lens.

I had to google that model Jim. When I win a big lottery I will own one of those too. No doubt you take your photography seriously and the results are self explanatory.

I would not have the nerve to take one of those into a canoe with me. I'd be too concerned about getting it wet. But after seeing that photo, I am glad you don't have the same concern!

I had to save my pennies for many a year to get to the point of affording it too.

I use a Pelican case to carry my camera and a few lenses. I even do this when running big rapids, in which my camera has gone swimming a couple times. I would not dream of doing it without a good case.

Here is a shot a friend took a few years back, with my son and I running a set of rapids, one my camera went swimming through one time.

ding ding ding.....

yep, that's it alright....a reflexion turned clockwise 90 degrees twice....then I was surprised to find a function that gave me a mirror image of MY mirror image.....so the thing looks right (trailer door appears on right side of trailer as per normal)......

I attach photos but they have to be clicked on to be seen full size....when I go to "insert into text" mode it asks me the address of the photo I want to insert (???)...can I upload here (as I do) and then copy the address of that ? if so where do I find said address ? TIA.....cheers

(on this latest trip...reflexions is all I could see it seems...here's another)

Little Red Toadstool

This little toadstool was waiting for us when we went for a walk:

Very nice toadstool, Brian. They have never been that pristine when I see them.

UPDATE:
Jim, you know my feelings about this pic, your photography skills and quality camera.

I got away from serious photography when digital came out and for years now was content with just a point and shoot. I have to admit your pic and high tech camera had reignited my interest and not long ago got a deal on a better quality camera. For sure not at your level of equipment but a big step up from my aging A710. Thnxs for the inspiration. As a result I'm enjoying the better image results from the new gear.

As you likely know Wayne, it is not just about the gear, but first getting yourself out and in a place to take the photos you would like to take, then composing them for the best results. It really helps too, to be in a place of beauty like I was in this photo.

My camera is now 6 years old, and there are two newer models of the Canon 5D out now. The recent one just announced, has a whopping 50.8 mega pixel full-frame sensor. You will be able to see the dust particles in the pores on one's skin.

Heck, I have taken photos I like with my phone. Here is one from a walk a week ago right near sunset. Jasper is a popular subject.

So true Jim. I recall camping up at Killarney Provincial Park a number of years ago and was at the right place at the right time when the kayak cruised by. Even with the noisy 7MP P&S camera the shot came though pretty good. You won't get these by sitting on the couch...LOL

PS... The image of the dog is good too. It's those kinds of images that keeps your attention and one wants to stay with it for a good look.

This award winning image (copied from a slide), I took back in the mid 80's with a Canon A1 and a tele lens. I was visiting my grandfather at his farm near Clementsvale Nova Scotia in the Annapolis Valley. The wild barn cat stuck his head out for a peek and I was ready. This was one of my favorite pics.
