Solar Pyrography-- woodburn with magnifying glass

I would like to share a hobby of mine I love to do during the day while camping. I burn wood with a magnifying glass to make very salable art using left over scrap wood from projects.

I have burned 1000's of different pieces over the years, the range of subject matter is limitless and can be very simple or extremely complex, as I choose.

Very nice. Do you have any landscape scenes or trailers? Could you show us your magnifiers? Do you sell at craft fairs on the road?

Unhappy

I use several different magnifying glasses ranging from 6" to 2" diameter, I buy them on ebay whenever I forget and leave one behind

I have done landscapes but I tend to do more wildhorses, Elvis, Marilyn, and I could of course do a trailer. I get a lot of requests for hot rods, pets, and copies of tattoo's.

I do not sell at craft fairs, but it could be done of coarse.

I do some wood burning but i use the pen method, have not caught on completely yet, still learning techniques. I never saw it being done with a glass. Certainly saves on power. Great job, and good luck. Carl

I am impressed! I would have trouble doing that with my feather burner.
