I have way too many hobbies, and not enough time to do them! But the one that's closest to my heart, and so relaxing, is weaving. I love to weave rugs, placemats, runners, etc, etc, etc. I also spin yarn.

My newest hobby is broom making, I'm having a great time with that and even have some of my brooms in a local shop (I got a little carried away and was overrun with brooms...they're FUN to make!)

Diane Tell me about your spinning ! What do you spin on?What type of fiber do you spin?
I also spin( for my knitting) on my- Ashford Traditional ,drop spindles & spindolyn the last two being the more portable--I have fiber!!! would love to take up weaving -all i need is another obsession!

broom making does sound interesting I have seen it done in St. Jacob's Ontario a Mennonite community
I'm picturing your home overrun by broom!!

Diane, you should post some pictures of your weavings and your brooms.

Ann, I spin mostly wool, sometimes flax. I've attempted cotton but it seems to be beyond me! Hmm, the kind of wheel...well, my first wheel is an Ashford Traditional. I've had it for so long, and have hauled it around everywhere in the back seat of my car, so it's a little wobbly. But, last fall I bought a Louet Victoria. I am in love! And...it folds up small enough to fit in the closet of the Scamp!!! The case is not much bigger than a laptop case!

I also work in an 1860's log cabin, and get to do a lot of spinning there. We have a Country Craftsman, an Ashford and a Kromski that we use for demonstrations...that Kromski spins like a dream...love it!

Hahaha, yes...my house IS actually overrun with brooms...they are hanging everywhere! Guess what my friends and family got for Christmas last year???

Bobbie...yes, I'd like to post some pictures. Maybe when I get back from vacation in a few weeks I'll do that.
