Woodworking Hobby

One of my hobbies is wood working. My nephew and niece-in-law have a 4 year old and a set of 1 year old twins. They asked me if I could build them a toy box. Wanting to build something that was one of a kind, I built this for them. For the top, unannounced to them, I actually had all 3 kids soak their feet in finger paint and then walk across the top. I then coated it with many heavy coats of water based poly and they loved it. Since it brought tears to my nieces eye, I think I did good.

Precious! That will be an heirloom! My uncle made several children's toys for his daughter, my cousin, and they have been passed down for generations long after he is gone!

I'm sure you built in safety features such as a gap on top so fingers don't get smashed as well as no locks as well as enough gaps so one can breathe inside even when one's brother sits on the top!?

Your family is very lucky to have you making beautiful furniture!

Very creative. Tears are a good sign. You are passing the good karma down through the generations. That will become a family heirloom.
