1975 Boler Door Latch

Hi Everyone!
I’m new to this group
I’m from Ontario but currently touring the east coast of
Canada and this morning my door latch failed.....the locking pin/rod snapped in half.
Any suggestions? Can a lock smith repair?
Hard to find a replacement
Everything is original and I would like to keep it that way.
Help!!!!
Looking for a Bargman L400 for 75’
Much appreciated

You can try a locksmith, if it is beyond repair I make a door lock replacement kit for the Bargman L400 & Lyster locks on boler's. The best news is, it only costs $130 CAD complete with new lock and hardware
Shop - Camping Treasures

This is the white version, also available in Chrome

Hi Ian,

Do you have any pictures of the chrome latch Installed? Would your kit work with one of those keyless keypad locks?

The Bauer lock used in my kit uses the same mounting dimensions as their key-less lock system, I do not offer this option because of the cost.

Here is a picture of the chrome lock with the adapter plate left unfinished

Hi Ian

When I checked camping treasures, the white version is a white lock, but the plate is not. did you painted your plates; they could have provided the plate in the same color as the lock, electroplated or such. other paints could scratch easy.

thanks

Bargman L-400 repair kits continue to pop up on eBay, I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Not cheap, but not ridiculous either (less than the replacement kit above). Complete locks, depending on condition, have gotten very expensive. NOS ones even more expensive. Of course, save your search on eBay if you go that route, as sometimes deals pop up. When you see one of those deals, don't wait. Pounce!

Realize that the L-400 was also used on Airstream trailers. People restoring Airstreams seem more than ready to pay whatever price necessary to get their parts.

I have a Lyster instead of Bargman L-400, it's missing the lever, I'm out of luck, unless I find someone who knows how to make one, , or I could find a full Bargman L-400 and I heard they are hard to find and quite expensive.

I think the Bargman is a bit bigger than the Lyster. I'd like to keep the original look, but it will be hard

I bought a L-400 on eBay once, where it had a below market price, buy it now. The key is don't wait, CLICK and BUY! I have a saved search on ebay for Bargman L-400. Any time something with that in the title shows up, I get an email. Thats how I scored my repair kit.

L-400s are just going to get harder and harder to find. So I am keeping a couple on hand. I can always sell later as the demand is strong.
