I am trying to glue it to top so the weather strip will hold it better.

Yes that's how mine was pt together. What adhesive you going to use? Is your fabric coated on one side? I just finished chalking off new material. Now to either paint or polish the shell and roof, I can't decide. THEN install the fabric...JUst finished glueing in laminate countertop. Next the lino floor.
This is my fabric :

got the original canvas. I am using some glue from a craft store don't remember the name have to check when I get home. it has been quite a job a couple inches at a time with small c-clamps only half way through. the rest of camper in good shape been in storage for years. trying to wax the outside and clean it up.

Did you start clamping top center or bottom first? All top then bottom ?

the bottom was never loose still from factory install. just top pulled loose from top some of the seams cam loose so I sewed them with canvas needle and now glueing to inside lip of top . then when done will reinstall the gutter edging.
