Another "Egg-Spectant" Parkliner owner!

Hi, everyone!

My husband and I will pick up our new Parkliner in June. We're excited to have such an intelligently designed little egg to pull behind our Honda Odyssey, and I am thrilled to find this community of experts! We have owned a Class C and a Class A in the past, and look forward to being able to travel with our four (small) dogs once again. Does anyone out there travel with multiple dogs? We would greatly appreciate any lessons learned for life in a Parkliner!

Look forward to seeing y'all out on the road.

Hello Cathy, congratulations on the Parkliner and welcome to the forum. The Parkliner looks like a very well designed trailer. We might have a look ourselves. The queen size bed is very appealing.

We travel with one 90+ pound Golden Retriever in our 13' Trillium. Wife Maggie made a bed cover out of cloth covering a plastic sheet. The pillows go in a large plastic lined cloth bag. The bag of pillows make a nice back rest and the cloth/plastic sheet protects the bed sheets, turning the bed into a dog friendly couch. At night the cover comes off and the front table is removed to provide floor space for the dog. It's cozy but it works well. Raz

I travel with a dog, too. I like these moving blankets from Harbor Freight, which frequently go on sale for $5. They are quilted and large, yet synthetic so they're easily washed.

Welcome, Cathy! I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have, after barely a week. Maybe we can get a picture of those pooches?

Hi, glad to be here

Hi everyone.

I'm the other half of Dog House Cathy. Just call me Dog House Bill. We are very excited about taking delivery of our Parkliner in early June. We look forward to getting out and about in our new RV.
What types of tow vehicle do folks use? Are you happy with the tow vehicle you have?

Any ideas on TV installations?

Cheers,
Dog House Bill

We've towed our EggCamper with a Chrysler minivan, a V8 Chevy pickup, and are now using a Buick Enclave All work well. Both the Chrysler and the Buick have a V6.

Hey Bill...

I have an 08 Rav4 with tow package. I had to add air bags to my rear coil springs which make a big improvement on the "squatting" issue I had.

I'm new to my ParkLiner but love it alot...goin 180 miles upstate NY this weekend for my first real camping trip....no running water but I will manage lol.

Best of Luck!

Have a good trip to Upatate NY

Thanks for the "squatting" info. I assume your RAV4 is a V6. Have a safe and thirst free trip. Lots of beautiful places in the Adirondacks: Lake George, tupper Lake, the Saranac Lakes, fulton chain of lakes, etc.

You can see pix of my RAV4 ( V6 Sport ) and Escape 17B, with and without the weight distribution hitch employed for comparison. See post #112

We tow a light weight (1600 lb) 13 foot Scamp with a tongue weight of less than 200 pounds. Our Odyssey handles very well without any adjustments, however if we towed at night our headlamps would be too high. We do not tow at night. On long trips we average 17 1/2 mpg.

Others on this forum have towed much heavier trailers with their Odyssey. Hope they chime in to say what adjustments they have made. check your owners manual. We would have to do something if we had a heavier rig.

Thanks for all of your comments. We will consider them all when we pick up our Parkliner and tow it away with our Odyssey.

Your Honda should do pretty well with the Parkliner.

Thanks, Raz! Nice Golden. Polly Marie asked for pictures... that's a dangerous request, as my computer is filled with them. I'll post one or two, though, when I can figure out how to post a picture. )

We have four Westies (we call them our West Highland Off-White Terrorists). That's sixteen little feet to bring dirt into the camper, so I very much appreciate the suggestions for furniture covers!

Thanks to all for such quick replies. This is a very friendly, welcoming group!

I will! Thanks. I have read a few of your posts. I think you are the one that put a tile backsplash up? Great idea. It's under consideration in NC...
