Welcome. I drove to Yellowknife in 1976. It was a long drive to see a gold mine.

Welcome Joseph, As you can see we have a 17 Bigfoot .Works for us to have the Scamp as well; when the moves are frequent, the weather cooperates and facilities available are good. Love those 17/17.5 Bigfoot. Tony

Yea, I know their fortunes rise and fall with the price of gold and now must be a boom time. Back then it was at the end of a loooooong road of crushed gravel with a few ferries instead of bridges.

Hi Donna
I have tons of pics in files/folders, but having probs selecting from them.Your reply box shows an "ADD VIDEO"prompt....but none for "attach picture", for instance. Our video file is empty, we shot no videos.

I'm going to need help big time if I am to send pictures.

Any tutorials ?

Joseph

Ferries indeed; the one that stands out is the 3/4 Mile long ride crossing the McKenzie River. When we crossed, the half dozen or so steel piers were sticking out of the water, the decks nearby, ready for installation.
First vehicles crossed the new span last Summer.
No gravel roads for us, it was all paved, but with frost heaves as much as 2 feet in places, as we neared and entered Y/Knife.Poor BIGFOOT was going up and down in my mirrors like an elevator !!

Hi Joseph! Welcome to the forum! We also have a 17' Bigfoot, the same year as yours and we're very happy with it. For us, it's just the right size - not too big, not too small. Hope you have even more great trips with yours.

Hi: Joseph O... Yepper that was me...and I still got it. New tug tho. Wonderful combo IMHO. The new truck has more seats in the cab, more torque, more hp. and slightly better mpg.
Bolerama is now at Longbeach Conservation Area, south of Wainfleet Ont. on the shore of Lake Erie

I have the 1991 deluxe and love it only had to add air conditioning.

I plan a trip to Yellowknife in the near future.

What did your gas mileage work out to using the Ford Ranger.
