Bigfoot RV owners!

Can anyone with an 80s or90s Bigfoot take a photo of your exterior tag? I may need it for a border crossing. Info is there but labels have bleached out

Have crossed the line going both ways many many times and they have never looked at any of the tags/stickers on the trailer. Only time they were interested in stickers was when the trailer was actually being imported from the US.

Here is a thread with a picture of what your are looking for on older trailers.

On newer trailers it will be a round sticker on the side of the trailer.

I removed the VIN tag on my 1989 Bigfoot to prevent it from deteriorating any more than it already had and crossed between the U.S. and Canada many times since with no issues whatsoever.

So ZachO, how did it turn out? Was a sticker/tag required? We just purchased a Bigfoot (haven't picked it up yet in Oregon) and will be in Canada on and off for trips. Just wondering...

Sorry, I was looking at this on my smart phone, and I guess this platform doesn't show up very well through it. I didn't actually see your response; it looked like your response was "Franswa", to which I replied "huh"?

Thanks for the help, everyone. I was sort of in a rush. As you know, there's a lot of information and mis-information out there about importing a trailer, mostly because the darn border patrol can't get their stories straight. I was planning on leaving it in canada and coming back to get it at the end of March, but when I went in and talked to them, they said I'd be able to bring it in that day. So suddenly everything needed to happen fast.

You are correct: they didn't even look at the tag. But when the seller called the border control earlier they said "we have to be able to read the tag". So I was worried. And sorry for the confusion, the fact that I was indeed importing a new trailer I had just bought is why I was worried about the tag.

I haven't registered it yet, but it's officially imported.

Glad they didn't need to see the tag...but did they conduct any cavity searches?

Negative, on me or the Bigfoot

I did get pulled into a tiny room with two Canadian Border Patrol officers on the way up, so they could count my money.

Had I been flagged, it may have been pretty suspicious. "Yes, I'm coming into Canada for one night, carrying thousands of dollars in cash, to buy a camper trailer". And then I come back across the border with no more cash, but also no camper trailer...

Good thing they told me I could get it across that day, so I left and was back two hours later with the trailer.

Luckily no one was paying that much attention.

Say, that is some luck--you're not kidding that'd have been a suspicious scenario! Glad you managed it so well! And glad neither you nor the Bigfoot were personally searched!
