Can anyone help?

Hi All,

Hubby and I are narrowing down the choices and our shortlist now includes:
  1. Largest Casita available
  2. Bigfoot 25 footer
  3. Scamp 5'er
  4. Escape 21' or 5.0
We were wondering if anyone in the SW FL region has any of these that we could see in person? We were thinking of going to the Scamp Rally in Sebring but their open house day is Wed and we both still have jobs so Saturday would be the day we could go. It seems like a long drive to look at one scamp 5.0 just to get it on/off the list.

Thanks in advance.

There are several Oliver owners in Florida. Both models are represented. The 18.5 foot Elite I is similar in size to the Casita. The 23.5 foot Elite II is similar in size to the others you listed.

If you write someone with the rally, they will surely show you trailers on Saturday.

Re: Tow Vehicle

Our tow vehicle is a GMC sierra 454 with heavy duty tow package. Hubby loves the 454..he has been working with them for much of his life.

I grew up spending all summer in a Frolic 23 footer and then my folks moved up to a 31 foot airstream. Frankly, I was pretty torn until we went to check out a vintage airstream yesterday and I realized that the airstream was more Dad's dream than mine. I am much more drawn to the fiberglass and hubby is fascinated with the idea of the fivers right now. We also have cats and they would have a blast on the stairs.

Financially, I am hoping to find a used whatever when the time comes...

We'll be at Highland Hammocks for two weeks starting tomorrow and then going to Lake Manatee and Myakka River after that, then doing a couple weeks in Vero Beach beginning March 8. We could plan to meet you on a weekend in one of those places.
We've done some modifications to our Scamp, but can pretty much show you what it was like when we picked it up in Backus. There are supposed to be 57 Scamps at Scamp camp. I expect there will be some other 19s besides ours. Most other owners would show you there's on the weekend as well.
Let us know, if we can help,

David

Ok, looks like we are going to the Highland Hammocks next Saturday to see your scamps! Thank you all.

If you could PM me your site number, it would be appreciated.

This originally had been what I wanted to do when hubby asked what I wanted for Valentines Day so I am so excited to know that we can still do. Hubby is interested also to see what modifications people are making.

Take care and looking forward to meeting Saturday.

Have you called Escape and asked them to set you up to see one of their trailers located near you?

As far as budget and tow limits, you've got a huge range...

That 454 Sierra is a workhorse. Know the feeling of being drawn to both directions. Good luck with your search.
