from Winnipeg

I have just been given a Boler trailer.I think it is an early one as the lights are simply attached on the back. I mean they are not inset at all. I will post some pics when I can. It doesn't,t have a bumper or anything on the back either. It is going to take some work to refurbish it but overall I think is usable with a good cleanup.
Does anyone have pics of the first few years models?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Bob, we'd love to see pics of your camper. It might also help someone identify the year! Congrats on the new trailer

I dont think you have a Boler, Boler's had buckets that the lights fit into. Pics will help. It is probally some variant of the Boler. Is the serial number plate still on the opposite side of the doorside of the trailer mid way down at the belt line? Where in Winnipeg are you I maybe able to come over and help you identify what you have. I am in Winnipeg as well.

Mark the 3rd weekend of August 2013 on your calander for our 4th Annual Manitoba Fiberglass and Vintage Camper Rally at St Malo. I am working on my new 1971 Boler to have it ready for the Rally.

Not all the Bolers had the frenched-in tail lights - my 1971 Boler manufactured in Winnipeg doesn't have them. The early flat-top Bolers didn't have rear bumpers either.

Bob, does your Boler have a flat roof, or is there a ridge going from front to back?

This thread has some good pictures of a '69 flat-top Boler:

Peter your Boler looks to have a flat roof making it one of the first 100 made in 1968 and no frenched lights makes it a real early model. I am finding that lots of Bolers are registered with the wrong year. I am thinking now that stickid has the same, I will know better once I pop over and see his.

My Boler is not a flat top. It is a 1971 model. Bolers seemed to have gone through quite a few changes in the first few years. I have seen '71 Bolers with and without the frenched lights. Maybe it depends where it was manufactured. Maybe they made a mid-year change. I also wouldn't be surprised if they're registered with the wrong year.

I'm looking forward to hearing what year of trailer Bob has.

Stoped by your place at lunchtime today Bob, but no one was home. Had a quick peek at your Boler. It is definately an Early 1968 with a flat top and no rear bumper and flush mount tail lights. You have a RARE model. Definitaly worth restoreing.

Hi Guys,
I am still around just have been extremely busy. I moved the Bowler around the back of the house and have not done anything other than clean it up a bit,. I took the covers off the cushions and probably will have to get new foam and also new covers.
I think I will have to tear it down to see if there is mould anywhere to be safe.
I had to sell two airplane projects that were taking up a lot of time.
It's unclear if I will have any time before spring but it is close to the house so it would be possible to put a heater in it and do some work.
Anyway I wanted to let you know I haven't given up or disappeared.
Maybe I can hook up with some others to have a look at some other restorations.
Take care
Bob
