Welcome, Daniel!

Are you thinking about adding an all-molded fiberglass trailer to your garage?

Happy camping?

Hey, Dan,

Tom in Fairfield. Glad to see a neighbor on the board. I, too, am new here. A month away from picking up a new-to-me Scamp 16, I’m going blind trying to take all this in.

Lots of great info, but I have to remember to stay aware of posting dates.
A lot of the info isn’t relevant to current models, parts, or methods. And a lot of it is.

Have fun here.

Tom

Thanks for the shout out Tom, enjoy that Scamp.

Jon in Az, not sure yet if my wife and I will add a molded fiberglass rig to our stable or not. I recently retired after 34 years and we are still trying to figure out the best configuration for our travel needs/wants.

This is tough! My wife and I “misfired” on our first molded FG purchase. I highly recommend you go to a rally or two and tour and discuss the various trailers with owners. We did this AFTER we bought our first trailer. Oops! We toured an Escape 19 at our first rally, realized our mistake and bought an Escape.

Compared to traditional trailers, all the molded trailers are on the small side. Some are really small! Now people that come from tent camping can find the smallest FG trailer to be spacious. But if you are used to Hampton Inn, then they are small for sure. Camping is all about the lifestyle, most of your time should be spent outdoors. So a small trailer can fit the right couple just fine!

I met a couple that was full timing in a Trillium 1300. 13 foot trailer end to end, small bed, no toilet, no AC. They loved it and been doing it for two years.

Meanwhile, others need a 40 ft motorcoach for just a week long trip. It’s all what works for YOU!
