Haulin Ass.... Minnie In NW WA New (Old) 1986 17ft Burro.

Hi I'm Minnie, proud new owner of a burro!

Got a great deal on this Burro, but of course it needs TLC. So far we've cleaned entire interior and exterior, replaced the floor rot, added new carpet, curtains and recovered the cushions. My husband went thru the bearings and brakes, fridge works but there's no hot water heater and we haven't tried the stove. The biggest issue I'm having is wether to apply new gelcoat or not. The existing is very thin and no products seem to touch the dull finish. Any recommendations on the exterior and a couple leaky windows?

Love all the pics on this site!

Oh yeah, whats the best options for awnings?

Thanks
Minnie

try some ReddMaxx Pro floor finish, great success in renewing older finishes here on the forum.

If you can't find it (Red Max Pro) at the home improvement store, look for Zep... it's the same stuff, by the same company, just different name. My former Burro (early '90s) was very dull and chalky, but a couple coats of Red Max had it shining nicely. You do want to get it really good and clean before applying, though.

Awnings, I'm the wrong one to ask.

Congrats on the trailer!

We just used Poli Glow on our Burro and it looks like it has new gelcoat.

The only reason we did not use RedMaxx Pro is because we live in the sunny southwest, and wanted to have the UV protection of Poli Glow. No matter which of the two products you use, I'm sure you will be pleased.

Hi Mike,

I went to home Depot and looked at the products you nice folks suggested. The only one they had was the Zep brand. There are five things available 1. Nuetral floor cleaner 2. Heavy duty floor stripper 3. Stain resistant floor cleaner 4. High traffic floor Finish 5. Wet Look Floor Finish. Of course Zep says to use them as a process. Is that all necessary?

Thanks,

Minnie
