Hello!

Hi,
I joined this site a couple of months ago but have spent all that time reading all your lovely posts and looking at pictures without posting anything of my own.
I bought a 1978 13' Scamp from Portland Oregon a couple of months ago in hopes of fixing it up and driving/ferrying it up to Alaska this spring for seasonal work.
I am the 3rd owner of this little guy and am already trying to fix it up whenever the rain lets up, which isn't very frequently here in Eugene, Or so the progress is slow.
I have already purchased a fantastic fan to replace the leaky roof-vent but for the time being there is still a tarp over the trailer where it sits in my back yard. Below is a picture of it in the snow just before xmas.
I'm kinda jumping right in here since I have very little experience with trailers or Alaska but I'm doing my research and hope it all works out!
Thank you for all the helpful information, it has already helped me a lot!
-Lisa

Welcome, Lisa.

Hopefully you get some breaks from the rain to get your repair work done.

Hi Lisa to FiberglassRV from another Oregonian! Thanks for posting the picture... where I live in PDX we didn't have the snow you did (whew).

When are you planning on leaving for Alaska? If you're around the end of April, come up to the Spring NOG... would love to meet you!

You'll find a lot of information here on this site, and please feel free to ask lots of questions. And also we'd love to see photos of Alaska when you get there! What kind of work will you be doing?

Yes, there is lots of great info here on the site. I've already gained a lot of knowledge from reading other's forums. I'm planning on working in a Lodge as a waitress since that is the industry that I have been working for the last 10 years, since I was 15 years old. I'll be applying online at different lodges in the next week and hopefully have a job nailed down (with an rv spot) by the time I get there.

Lisa, welcome

I hope you sick around the forum and keep us posted on your adventure.

I have to admit I'm jealous.......I'd love to jump up to Alaska and spend the summer........someday.

I heard a funny story about a man who let his wife and her sister out to "tinckle" in Alaska......he heard a commotion and looked over to see what was going on and saw two hinnies completely covered with misquotes......

Hope you have a wonderful time.......send lots of photos

Del
