Hello from Colorado

Mary and Ken here in Colorado. We're planning on purchasing and are doing our research now. We are very interested in the Escape, but my other half wants a "couch" type arrangement in place of or in addition to the dinette. We haven't found that in any of the FG trailers yet. Any suggestions?

Welcome Mary.
There are a lot with couches. Anything with a front bunk has a couch, side or rear couches are called gaucho for some reason. Common in Bigfoots and 17' bolers. Reace at Escape is very accomodating with customizing his builds, I think that if you talked to him, he could come up with something to make your other half happy.

Lil Snoozy has a nice jackknife couch - very comfortable to sit on.

Hi Mary

Where in Colorado are you located?

There is a rally of fiberglass campers at Camp Hale next week. I don't know if there will be any Escape trailers there but there will be an assortment of fiberglass to see. Check the Rocky Mountain Egg Rendezvous thread for more details.

Enjoy your search.

Welcome fellow Coloradoains! Glad you joined us...........

Camp Hale would be a fun rally to attend (it's about a bazillion degree's cooler than most other areas in CO . I was just up there last week, it was beautiful!!!!!!!!) But if you can't make it there, there is also the Cherry Creek Fiberglass Roundup. Your more than Welcome to join us. Or even stop by (Saturday would probably be best) I believe we have an Escape joining us this year. Certainly don't know the models of most of the "brands" coming but at least touring them would give you ideas on the manufacture quality, etc! I will try and go back thru all the different brands that will be attending this year. 30 rigs, I know most of the mixture are Casitas, Scamps, with a few other brands attending. Ones I can recall, Oliver, Escape but from there I got to verify brands. I will check on brand type's for you and post.

I am in N, CO and own a Casita. I doubt you would want my model (Freedom DLX) but your more than welcome to look at it.........

Well, I just went and tried to verify the different brands attending.

Of course, Casitas (lot's of them, so I figure every model)
Scamps, from 13fter to a 5th wheel
Oliver
Escape (sorry I don't know model)

Then vintage, we have a ( what I am looking foward most to seeing)

Hunter
Boler
and a Burro!

If a left out a brand I am sorry!

Now if I could get Orlen and his beautiful wife Carolynn to attend you could see a EggCamper!

Hello Mary and Ken, welcome to FiberglassRV! We're glad you're here!

You won't find a permanent bed, plus couch, plus dinette, plus bathroom in any current brand of molded fiberglass trailer.

Lil Snoozy builds one with a permanent bed, bathroom and a couch with removable table.

Scamp builds one with a side dinette (cushions, convertible to a single bed), permanent bed and bathroom.

Parkliner builds one with a side dinette (cushions, possibly convertible to bunk beds), permanent bed and bathroom.

Casita builds one with a side dinette (cushions, convertible to single bed), permanent bed and bathroom

Casita builds one with a side dinette (captains chairs), permanent bed and bathroom

Escape builds one with a permanent bed, bathroom and front dinette.

and then there are the 5th wheels.

I've seen a "couch" and permanent bed and bathroom (Deb's and Chuck's) 21 foot Bigfoot... out of production, no dinette though.

Remember, you are talking about a "small" travel trailer. Most of us consider our "livingroom" the great outdoors.
