hello from England - cadet / n126 /freedom microlite owner

Hello from England! Bought a n126 in march, was a kids play house, painted white & pink inside, leaking window seals and generally in a bad way with shot leaf spring suspension, gutted it and made new Suspension! It's coming along and works well with our vw t4! Didn't realise there was so many different fibreglass caravans!

Funny to see that we tow the same kind of caravan with VW T4s. I believe your T4 might be lowered too, since that is very popular in the UK. My T4 is at original hight, but the tow bar is still a bit low for the caravan, with less then 10 cm clearance between the support wheel and the ground and its lending forward. I would love to see photos of the new suspension you've made and how it sits behind your T4.

Hi,the suspension is made up of 2 new avonride indespension units -upside down, so instead of pointing down to the road 45° they point up ! Iv another standard n126 with standard suspension and wheels and it measures 20 inch from ground to wheel arch, the modified suspension measures 13inch so it's 7 inch lower!Iv towed it about 600miles miles in total with no problems and is very stable at 60/70 mph . My van is slightly lowered around 50mm and the towball is on the lowest setting of 2 holes on towbar (top of ball is 30cm from the road) this makes the caravan level when hitched up! I'll post pics

Hi: camperpete... Welcome to our little fiberglass world. Nice to see you've returned the n126 to being an "Adult playhouse".

Wow, looks great! Doug here in the middle of America! Very cute trailer. Our Scamp has been greatly improved since buying it just a year ago. Factory mods topped it off.

Nifty fiberglass rig Peter! What is the top bit showing in your first photo and the last photo? It looks like it is on top of the fiberglass top?

Love the Cadet! You have done some really slick renovations. Wish I could see it in person. Keep up the good work. Lee in Idaho
