Hello from St Paul

We just picked up our new to us 2017 Scamp 16 with side dinette. Purchased from a really nice couple in Willmar, MN who have upgraded to an Escape.

We saw a few of you in New Ulm earlier this fall. At the time, we were towing a Little Guy Silver Shadow. It just happened that we stumbled upon all of you fiberglass folks. After a 2 week tour of the south in late September, we decided that maybe A/C, indoor plumbing, etc. weren't the worst things to have in a camper.

Ours went straight to storage today after pick up, so we've got 6 long months to prepare for the 2020 camping season and our beautiful Scamp.

We're curious about other MN campers on this forum. We assume, because of the New Ulm gathering and Scamp being based in MN, there must be a lot of you here.

Welcome Rich and congratulations on your new Scamp!

It's a long winter here in Minnesota but at least you have something to look forward to come spring. Start planning

Hello Rich! Yes there are many Minnesota folks on this board. I am thankful that I don't have to store my Scamp for the entire winter and can enjoy the many South Florida state and county parks.

Oh rub it in Nigel, rub it in.

My wife would like to go to Arizona during the winter but digging my Casita out of the snow tomb it's encapsulated in would take a team of archaeologists with heavy equipment.

We are new MN Scamp owners of a 16 ft 1979 wonder. It will be needing a LOT of reno, which we hope to do over the winter.

Tell me more about the Rally in New Ulm.

Looks like there at least two rallies. One in May at Kathio State Park on Mille Lacs and one In September at Flandrau in New Ulm.

Welcome Rich from another St Paul native ( Macalester Groveland )
Enjoy the winter for all too soon the heat and humidity of Summer will be upon us
We tried going south in the Winter when we first retired but soon came to the realization that it wasn’t worth the time or effort plus we just plain missed Winter , snow and the Grandkids.

Whoa! Another fiberglass owner in Lanesboro?

I wonder what the ratio of population to FG campers is in Lanesboro?

At least 3 Scamps, not counting yours, that I know, and two Escapes in a town of 740 people. Two Scamp and two Escape owners live within a block of each other. The two Escape owners have their home entry doors 20 feet from each other. That's population density!

Enjoy,

Perry

Hello from St. Paul

We are in Robbinsdale! We have a 16ft 1999, front bath, side dinette. We moved up from a 13ft 1980 Burro. We love our new to us Scamp and are always looking for new places to camp close to home.

Slow Reply (sorry!) from a MN Casita Owner

Hi, I moved into a Minnetonka apartment in August after full timing for four years. My 2014 Casita Spirit Deluxe 17’ is stored for the winter, but I would like to propose a get-together at a pub somewhere near the Twin Cities, just to chat about molded fiberglass travel trailers.

I’m not volunteering to set this up, but I promise to attend if anyone wants to organize a camperless gathering some afternoon or evening!

Twin Cities fiberglass gathering sans campers?

We might be up for that. We have been teardrop campers for the last five years. Friends of ours owned a Casita, since sold when they relocated to Oaxaca. They were our local consultants and inspiration for moving up.
