Hello from Tacoma!

Hi everyone, did the usual and owned a used Rockwood MiniLite for a year or so and found I loved camping. Then researched a better trailer and easily focused in on fiberglass RV's in general, and Escape in particular. My 2018 21' Escape will be ready for pickup this June and I can hardly wait. After retiring, and then selling the 1939 40' power boat (have had boats for 28 years), I'm ready to "cruise" in my Escape trailer and see the land of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Started a blog a year ago with that first trailer, will continue with the new trailer, and with non-trailer adventures as well, travelswithtowhee.com. I'm so appreciative of all of the information that everyone shares here. I'm a retired diesel truck mechanic, but there's still lots in the world that I don't know about. Thanks everyone. Glad to be here!

Ann, welcome to the FGRV forum family. Now you’ll have to attend some of the rallies in your area to get to know some future friends, even if you haven’t picked up your Escape yet.

Diesel mechanic? If you see a white Sprinter in your mirror... Just kidding!

Welcome! I'd love to tow an Escape with my Sprinter, but it might have to be a 17', maybe a 19'.

PS, for others. What ever happened to Lisa, her Sprinter and Scamp? Haven't seen her in a while.

Welcome Ann

From Vashon Island!
I too just retired. I know that your mechanical background will come in useful in your RV adventures.

Welcome, Ann from Tacoma,
from Renton Highlands.

We'd like to invite you and your Escape (and anyone with you) to at least stop by the September 21 & 22, 2018 2nd annual fiberglass trailer get-together at Dash Point State Park, the SAFE: Seattle Area Fall Gathering. You can find more about it through the Search engine on this site.

Welcome to the forum Ann.

Anyone with a 5.7 liter looking to pull an Escape 21 is clearly a wise and discriminating person in my book.

welcome, "sister" ;)

I too came from boating...after twenty odd years of cruising around Vancouver Island in trailerable sailboats I switched to a "land yacht"....

and I constantly get a kick out of the similarities and differences between the two endeavors

even after four years I still have to fight "provisioning anxiety"....where I feel like I have to have EVERYTHING "on board" before departing....when it's so simple and convenient in a trailer to just stop ANYWHERE and buy whatever

I do NOT miss running out on deck in a panic at four in the morning (with no clothes on!) because the anchor is dragging...

I do miss those "one boat anchorages" available all over on the water.....those are a lot harder to find on land and require a lot more "work" to get to

Happy trails....
