Hello. I am Leonard Anderson.

My wife and I plan to do a lot of camping starting in 2014. We are new owners of a 17' Casita Freedom Deluxe. I have many questions about everything. Question # 1 is whats the best way to clean a fiberglass camper? I was thinking of using Simple Green mixed with a cup or two of vinegar to wash the outside down with. Question # 2 is has anyone used Nu-Finish to polish a fiberglass camper? Thanks for the advice.

I used to use Nu Finish but had to use it four times a year to keep a shine. Now I use Red Max Pro 3 or Zepp Wetlook. Do it once and it shines for 3 years without buffing at any time.

Here's the long thread with many pictures.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I will check them both out. Can I ask where to purchase the afore mentioned products? Can I by them locally?

Hi Leonard, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

I don't see it in your profile and you didn't mention in your post.. what the year is of your Casita, or if the gelcoat is in "need."

For brand new all molded towables, I'd use Meguires Flagship. If you keep it waxed, it will look good for years.

For an older trailer, with gelcoat that needs help to shine, you may want to use ZEP as mentioned by Norm.

Others will pop in with suggestions too.

Its a used 2006. In wonderful shape. Just needs a good cleaning and polishing/ waxing/ red max to shine up the exterior. Think, I'll try the Red Max, the photos that I've seen on here are stunning. Wow, what a shine.

Just make sure you take off your shoes when you apply it.

Leonard,
If you apply the Zeppelin as suggested you should have no trouble with your footwear.

I use a deep throwaway aluminum foil baking container and only put a 1/2 inch in at a time. I dip my magic eraser cloth in and wring it out like I were wiping the dinner table, putting a very light coat on. The object is to not have any drips or runs on the trailer and certainly on you. I do wear rubber gloves.
