Hi everybody.

I'm Darrel from Iowa. I just placed an order for a 13' Scamp with a bathroom. I get it in October. I was wondering if anyone could answer a question that I have. Having a bathroom means having one bed. My Granddaughter will be going with me on occasion. I was wondering if one of those blow up matresses would fit on the floor. The matress is for me. She gets the bed, of course. Thanks.

Hi Darrel, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

It depends on what you mean by a "blow up mattress" if you mean air mattress... the old fashioned kind and it's one of the narrow ones... then yes, it will fit.

From the rise at the dinette to the washroom wall is 44 inches and 42 wide from kitchen unit to closet is 42 inches.

Welcome. Scamp floors are raised about 4" under dinette. If you built a platform about 30" long you could use a self inflating air bed and sleep with your legs under the lowered table. One note: To fully open the frig. and bath door the platform can't be over 22" long. Maybe you can devise a way to hinge up the end of the platform.
Did you order the standard or wide bed?

Ours has standard bed so downsize accordingly if you have the larger bed

Not positive about the bed size but, when I was talking to the salesman he said they were making the beds 10 inches bigger now. I don't know if you have to tell them you want a bigger bed, or if it comes that way. I'll be calling tomorrow to find out. Thanks everybody.

The 13 foot trailer comes standard with a 44 inch bed. You can also get it with a 54 inch bed. You lose a little closet and cupboard space.

Two cupboards over stove instead of three, stove placed with burners front to back instead of burners side by side, closet about half size and of course less open floor space. Tradeoffs if you want the larger bed. You should end up with some extra under dinnette seat storage. The space has to come from somewhere

Sorry Eddie, Took a while for me to see this. I did order it with the wider bed. I am going into this completely ignorant. Hoping I don't regret the way I have the new trailer setup. I'm pretty easy to please, I built a teardrop trailer. Talk about cramped.

Depends how old/tall your granddaughter is. You could both sleep on the bed platform in individual sleeping bags, foot to head like you would in a tent OR you could consider building a bed platform at foot of your bed like this http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...amp-55214.html.

Gilda, Thanks for the idea. My Granddaughter is close to 14. We have hung out almost every weekend since she was born. I'm not sure when, or if she'll be going but, that's a great idea. Thanks.
