Hi from Chilliwack BC

Good Afternoon
We have just registered on this forum. We've been lurking for several weeks and decided to join in.
We are retired and live in Chilliwack (part of BC's beautiful Fraser Valley). Those of you who own an Escape trailer have probably visited Chilliwack as the Escape Factory is located here.
Years ago we owned a little Boler and loved it but always wished it had an awning; screen door; blinds; and most importantly a bathroom.
Curious about the Escapes being built literally 5 minutes from our home we stopped in one day. We met Reece and Tammy, saw their beautiful little trailers and, well, as they say, the rest is history. We were able to "custom" our trailer to suit us and it is absolutely beautiful. Our new little "boler" with ALL the trimmings.
We took delivery of it in March 2010. We haven't had the chance to use it all that much but when we do, we have a great time. We also spend a good portion of our trips giving "tours". Lawrie says its the "cute factor".
We look forward to "meeting and chatting with you.
Cheers,
Carol & Lawrie Edwards

Welcome

Carol and Laurie, we to have joined the Escape family and are new also to FGRV. We were able to purchase a 'mint condition' 2014 Escape 17B a few weeks ago. Like you we haven't been able to use it much as of yet but plan on getting great use out of it shortly. If the weather holds we plan on being at the Escape home base in a day or two to get some minor modifications made. We had planned on heading south following that but will likely just pull back home...and make the move south by southwest early in the new year. We also plan on attending the Escape Owners Appreciation Rally in May. Maybe we will get to meet you there.

We did visit the factory the last time we were in Pacific Northwest.
Left our Scamp at a campground just North of Seattle, and made a day trip of it.
The model we liked was the one with full time queen size bed and front dinette.
But what kept us from buying, then, was that wall fabric squeaked when you sat and rubbed the backrest coushions against it.
Also, our TV was not up to pulling the heavier camper with it's larger frontal area and did not want a larger one. But their workmanship and lots of "standard" features was great!

That would be the Escape 19 which has the queen bed. The larger 21 has a smaller bed.
If you spend $100 Canadian they will cover all sides of cushions with the finish material. This will stop the squeaking on the wall and give you another option should you mark or rip one side. I am sure the standard plastic type material they put on the bottom of the cushions wears better on the plywood benches. I will be covering the plywood with a thin type carpet that is used in auto trunks to aid in the wear.

The squeaking being a deal breaker is a new one for me. Our cushions were ordered with a full wrap, so no vinyl on vinyl to squeak. As for the tow, our 19 definitely wouldn't work with a vehicle with 3500 lbs of towing capacity. 5000 would be a good minimum.
