Hi, I am Alex

Hi, I am just getting into the whole camper scene. I am actually looking for any lightweight camper less than 1500 lbs. I have just started looking and hope to join the ranks of owners soon.

Welcome and best of luck! There is an older thread called "Real World Weights" that you should check out here. It's a list of the weights shared by members of this forum and reflects what campers weigh when loaded for actual camping (as opposed to a factory empty weight).

Most people here suggest you attend a nearby rally to get ideas about what may fit you and your situation best. Good luck on finding your dream. I lurked for 12 years o RVtravel forums (that was a LONG tie ago) before taking the plunge.

I've already looked through the real world weights post. I have been lurking for a while now on the forums. I've done lots of calculations for the weight of the stuff I bring camping most of which would be in the tow vehicle. So far, the numbers add up which is why I am now actively looking. Once I do get something, my first job will be to verify the empty weight and then work on the packing routine for the tow vehicle and the trailer.

I have a very good idea of what I want for a trailer and have already looked at a couple.
