Red face Hi, I am Carol

So nice to have found you all. I am searching for a small trailer to tow behind a 4 cylinder SUV, if possible. I also plan on doing solo travel and am new to towing. Add to that, I am on a pretty tight budget.....around $5,000. So, I will definitely be searching for something used/fixer-upper. I have looked at hard-side pop-ups (vintage), A-frames, etc. The A-frames came close until I discovered complaints about the floors rotting out.

I live in NE Ohio, and it would be wonderful to find something close, but I would be willing to travel a good distance for the right find.

So, my several-years-long search continues. Who knows, maybe this year I may find something.....somewhere.

Welcome, Carol

Wow, I have only been active on these forums for a little over a month. I do come here and at Scamp forums several times a day tho. I would say, as you already know, finding a really light trailer that you TV will pull, for $5K, will be tough. Good things do happen to good people, I hope your search is fruitful!

Hi, Carol, welcome! Agree with 2nd poster that this is a bit of a tall order...but many have succeeded. Check out the thread here, Trailer Weights in the Real World for an overview of fully-loaded weights of trailers/models/sizes. You can find that thread by inputting it at the bottom of the Search on this site.

Also check out the Buyer's Checklist if you're getting a used rig--and take it seriously.

Do keep us up to date on your search and results...and we do so love photos! (When you have some)

Some of us could give you actual links to those threads...I are not them.

BEST
Kai
